Bostic vs. Yuzo Kiyota

Post by AntonS »

Heard Bostic was challenging current OPBF super middy champ for vacant light heavy title (vacated by Tim Bell on Aug 8 ) in Japan on Oct 11.

Sounds like a good match-up. Kiyota is strong, but technically limited.

This fight is for the vacant Light heavyweight title, It will be a terrific stoush, Bostic is a real chance in this, also there were no other Australian's or Kiwi's available or willing to take the fight.

If successful, this will set the stage for a mandatory defence against #1 Soul Pownceby in Kiwi possibly in November, it may be talked about as Tua v Cameron such is the competitivness between the two.

Congratulations to Craig and Jameson for seeing the opportunity, then grabbing it. fortune favors the brave, it's a shame some of the others didn't have as much ticker.

That makes sense. Will be interesting to see whether Kiyota can carry his power up to the higher weight.

Looks like Bostic has the edge in experience.

Well your information is wrong guys, I just spoke to Bostic 3 minutes ago via skype and its definately on, i have assisted in the negotiation with this fight from start to finish and i can tell you its on 100%, October 11 in Tokyo at the Korakuen Hall.

It will be a good fight also, because Kiyota, while a very fit fighter, has not fought at this weight, and also Bostic is a durable fighter, having been stopped just once, he is better fighter than his record suggests, plus hes a southpaw and awkward.

They have agreed to purses, judge and now just the airtickets are being done along with the invitation letter for Jamie, his trainer and manager, so its all good, If he wins and brongs the OPBF title back down to Kiwi, this will be good for the local fight scene and will certainly stimulate the boxing in this area.

There was talk of a proposed fight with Tua in November which is the last of his 3 fight deal with TVZN, and then possibly Bostic v Pownceby for the title provided Bostic wins in Japan, so that would be a good boost to the local scene, as i believe there is a real rivalry there,

I have no idea who would have called McConville, or why? strange one that, because I called Nick, Shane's dad a couple of times and they were more interested in defending his OZ title,

I never called them this time knowing he had a defence slated for this month in his hometown of Chinchilla, but as of last night i spoke with the Japanese agent here, and he is all 100%, then i spoke with Jamie Bostic just 30 min ago on Skype and he is all keen and ready to go.

Plus i have already got this fight and this fight only sanctioned with the OPBF, anything else theyr'e saying is just pure conjecture and wrong, as far as im concerned.

Thanks for your interest, i hope this helps, if i hear anything else to the contrary, i will certainly post here to keep you informed, While i know most of what has happened regarding this fight, i truly don't know it all and dont want to appear as being arrogant and saying i do know it all.

Thanks
