Lightweight unification: Corrales vs Castillo May 13 10pm

Middleweight: Trinidad vs Wright May 15 2am

These are two great fights. I fancy Castillo by UD in the first and Trinidad by KO in the second

Im going opposite in the first fight, corrales by UD. cant decide on the second fight yet... Wright is some fighter, I dont see an eary tito KO, cant even see him getting too close in the first few rounds, maybe a mid to late stoppage for tito or wright on pts.

Yeah I reckon, I can see Tito / Winky going 12 too. If either man manages to stop the other it would be an enourmous victory i would think.

i think the fact wright is going up a division makes tito favourite. they're both good fighters but tito's strength will come through

Really? to be brutally honest I actually thought they where fighting at 154. It's a valid point in that case then.

I just think Tito's style will be all wrong for Wright. I think Wright will have his moments, but he won't really hurt Tito - and I think Tito will just be too damn strong and throw lots of punches that will put Winky of his rhythmn. Thats the key to beating Wright - do not respect his power and just make him think a little with your own power. Simon did that, Vargas did that (although, I did think Wright won that fight - it was certainly close). Tito's natural style can do that, providing he doesn't get mesmorised by the jab - which is possible.

There are indications that Winky will be sticking at Middle, win lose or draw. Believe it or not, whilst I tip Tito here - I give Winky more of a chance vs Hopkins - it is all about the styles.

As for the Lightweight fight, I going for Castillo here - I just think Corrales is overated. Nothing shifts Castillo and although I don't see him as a huge puncher - his KO percentage is quite good, I think he can hurt Corrales.

There is another very interesting Lightweight bout being televised by Sky (undercard fight to one of these bills) - Joel Casamayor vs Kid Diamond. A lot people are saying big things about Diamond, Casamayor looks to be on the slide (I wish he would stay at Super Feather). Could be interesting. I give it to Casamayor, when he has a setback - he doesn't never takes the easy option as a warm up. After Freitas he fought Nate Campbell before his fight with Corrales.

Yeah it's on the undercard of Cotto / Abdulaev. Diamond looks decent from his records. 20-0 with 12 KO's. Joel doesnt like an easy fight .

Well on the sky website its billed as a middleweight fight so i'd have thought it'd be 160

I think more boxers should challenge themselves at higher divisions, especially if they have the frame to fill out and make the weight.

Thats why i have more respect for guys like De La Hoya. Hopkins is a great but he's been fighting at 160 forever, why does he never take on any of the super middleweight champs?

Surely Winky has the natural size advantage.

Depending on how motivated he Winky is to win big i'd expect a Tito win on points due to throwing many more punches and keeping Wright in his turtle like defensive posture.

I was highly impressed with how Corrales dealt with Freitas and Casamayor. I see a clear but close points win against hard geezer Castillo.

Some are saying Kid Diamond is the real deal - he'll need to be to get by the Cuban slickster.

Joel had a good line - "I'll beat him, then cut off his ponytail."

Saw Kid Diamond on the DLH - Hop undercard. He looked okay - kept his hands high and sort of followed his opponent round looking for the one big shot. Cut off the ring well but who was he fighting? Reminded me a lot of Yuri Boy Campas. I think Casamayor's movement will give him a lot of trouble, and in general the Cuban will just be too slick for him.

Thats where I saw him, I couldn't remember where - I was impressed with him, I cannot remember what his power was like, but I thought Joel's legs look gone during the later stages of the Castillo fight - can he box for 12 x3's anymore.
