Always good to keep up with the latest in the bizzare world of WBO ratings - no wonder they're so popular with certain European promoters.

Just wading through the 50 or so title fights in this weeks prediction league and came up with this one -

A certain Noel Tunacao had his last fight 15 months ago, which he lost by a glorious 2nd round TKO - and boxrec notes -

Rachman's double counter to the body knocked Tunacao down. After the eight count, Tunacao shook his head to quit.

His reward this weekend is a world title shot for the WBO minimumweight ( whatever that is ) in.......yes Puerto Rico.

The WBO rules meetings must be similar to the mad hatters tea party I reckon.

Always good for a laugh. I'd like if a journalist did a WBO Watch for a year or a year and a half. Imagine how woeful the evidence would be?

The WBO is all about providing championship careers for contenders - creating a middle space that didn't exist before, where guys who just fall short of true Championship class can spend their whole careers in relative comfort. Think of all the nearly men of old who would have made 'great' WBO champs. Really sickening to think someone would consider Calzaghe the best Welsh fighter post-war going by statistics alone. Outrageous, actually. Probably just as bad as Scott Harrison 'the best Scottish fighter ever' or whatever he was saying a while back!

Erm.

Champion Tony Margarito.

Number 1 ranked contender is Michael Jennings.

Now, as a feller from down the road to Jennings I have a bias towards him but saying he's the second best welter in the world has to be pushing things. If he's seen the Cintron fight he'll have had a few sleepless nights since then...

Calzaghe's No#1 challenger is a Mexican called Librado Andrade...

Martin Power is somehow ranked fourth best super flyweight in the world.

Number one to Scot Harrison is a Thai called Terdsak Jundang....Nicky Cook at #4, Steve Foster at #6, Brodie at #7....

Jennings ratings a joke.
He probably no4 ranked in Britain after Magee, Barnes, Hare there a few other who might push him.

As for Martin power another strange one.

All the world bodies ratings are laughable.
