Questions for David Haye
I will admit I have not read every post or news story regarding the Haye/Harrison match up, so forgive me if these questions have already been answered!
1) Why is it that a heavyweight top ten opponent could not be found instead of Audly Harrison? Surely after so many months of media silence there was enough negotiation time for a more credible opponent to be found? I dont believe that more boxing fans would rather watch Haye/Harrison than Haye against any of the current top 10 rated opponents. Haye said himself that he thinks Harrison does not deserve the shot at the title.
2) Haye said in the press conference that Harrison is not as good as any of his last 3 heavyweight opponents, so this match up represents a step back and not forward doesnt it? Surely, regarding the number of fights that can fit into the time scale, this is not a good idea when Haye has said he will retire when he reaches 30?
3) What are the reasons for not taking on a Klitschko? Both brothers are calling out Haye on just about every type of media.
I dont think I am wrong in saying many boxing fans are disappointed with Harrison as Hayes next opponent. The fight will, and has been, talked up but it will never be the event a world heavyweight title fight should be. This is just another example of boxing going wrong, and boxers getting world title shots that they have not earned. Whos next David? Tyson Fury?

Re: Questions for David Haye
David Haye keeps spouting "I'm doing this because boxing fans want me to finish Harrison" and you can't help but think no, wait a minute, all we have to do is wait for Dimitrenko to become injury-free, then he'd finish Harrison himself. It's a let-down fight, one that Haye shouldn't try to justify.

I agree Asterix, but another part of me is hoping the Haye is fighting a guy of Audley's size to prepare him for a Klit. Audley has a good jab when he's not pawing with it and is pretty much the same size as Wlad and Vitali. Valuev was much bigger than the Klits but doesn;t have Audley's skill - so I'm deluding myself that apart from money, it's good preparation.

He's ranked 13th in the WBA rankings and 16th in the WBC rankings.

I just hope that for the sake of what Haye seams to think is a quick and easy buck.....and I said buck.....he doesnt throw away the chance of 1 or 2 mega fights with the Klitschko's. Lets face it we could all be posting on BoxRec soon debating that in the aftermath of his shocking win over David Haye, if/when Harrison gets a Klitschko what chance would he have? Imagine the horror......I dont want to.....
Dont get me wrong, I wish both boxers all the best and I hope the event turns out to be the best fight of the year. The trouble is I have real worries that it will in fact win very big at the annual comedy awards....with the biggest joke being at David Hayes expense.....everyone reading this imagine big Aud grinning and gurning at the camera shouting and spitting" I told you, I TOLD you"......not nice is it?
