As for myself...I went to see Mike Hayton the hand specialist and he confirmed the hand injury and said I have also ripped the tendon on the middle knuckle on my left hand. I am having an operation Monday to repair the damage and may be out for 3 months. Will post when the op is done.
Looking at next year for the fight with Lindsay?

All the best mate, hope it heals quickly.

all the best with the op,
And Simpson is a handful for any boxer, i'd like him to get a chance at a Euro title, there have been far less deserving challengers for that title in the past.

Although life might not be any easier down a weight, I know Rendall Munroe and Jason Booth have moved on from the domestic scene, but you have 2 very good newcomers in Kris Hughes and Scott Quigg on their way up into the domestic title scene. Even so, good luck John.
John would eat both Hughes and Quigg

I agree. I just want to see the rematch so we can see the true Swifty.

Definitely. He'll be force proving he doesn't have to drain too hard.
everybdy on this forum bar you scousers saw that simpson nickd the fight by 1 or 2 rounds IMO, swifty looked upper domestic/european class, hope it was an off night for the lad,all he wanted to do was hold.
What the F*CK is "upper domestic class?"
You really are a twat. I bet you convince your Mrs and your mates that you're an expert on boxing who converses with top pros daily.
I've heard it all now - upper domestic class

With regards to Simpson, I think he'd be an animal at super bantam. Whatever he does next he has our best wishes and respect as before the fight with Stephen. :TU:

Bollocks again lad. There were jocks who scored it for Swifty.

Swifty broke his hand early, explains quite a bit about the way the fight panned out.

Fuckin hate it when you fuuuckers come up with the JOCKS stuff, give it a rest ffsake. Simpson won by 2 rounds for me anyway, but close fight

OK folks, rolling back on topic....

This could be just the kick start that John needs after what must have been a sore defeat (thought he had it by two, but couldn't argue with it edging the other way.....IJL's scorecard on the other hand.....). Much like Munroe, if he can make the weight well then he could carry a decent strength advantage at SBW and be a real monster. Frame wise John has never looked a huge Featherweight to me, certyainly he didn't look to outsize Smith at all but he's always come across as carrying good strength for the weight, especially so in the Truscott fights.

Pleased to see from the above that he's taking the defeat in his stride, certainly think he's got plenty left to give to and achieve in the game.

All the best to John Simpson, always a good fighter to watch :box:

So why not say "one of the best domestically" rather than upper domestic class - trying to sound all intelligent
As far as I remembered though, domestic class is the best domestically. But what do I know.

By the way, you do make me smile when you rant. I'm sure you make sense to yourself:
"when in all reality simpson nickd it IMO"
Is it in all reality? Or in your opinion? Or.... Are they both the same thing?

I had simpson by 1 round but think a draw would have been fair if am honest, expected a lot more from smith after all the hype on here but maybe to do with the hand problems?
I hope john simpson gets a few decent paydays down at superbantam weight its what his career deserves if am honest, and if its true about paul abbelby going back down to feather weight, appelby vs smith anyone?

I'm new to this forum (only just read about it in boxing monthly) but think it's great already. Am I being nieve or is that really Paul Smith arguing with that home of british boxing (take it he's not official) - he called him a kunt and a bellend - crazy! Have to agree with the guy though I think Simpson won the fight (close as it was) Mr Home of british boxing don't think we'd need the judges if you had the balls to get in the ring with Paul Smith though.

Ofcoarse I don't have any ill-feeling towards Paul Smith - I've never met him. And as for you being called home of british boxing, well it's just a big call on your part!
