I would have throught they would have tested Woods for marjuana AFTER the passive Tarver showing, not before
Ironic that had Rhodes not come out with this, most of us would be none the wiser...

Im a regular gym goer and know a sted-head from a non drug user. He certainly aint on anything drug related. He'd be massive if he was and like he says he's trying to make the light middle category so why would he want to bulk up. As for the veins in his head , im bald too and you want to see mine pop out when the kids are doin me head in.

Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
I beleive some nosey Journo has been trawling the net and has seen the comment about Rhodes failing a drug test,he has wisely (in his case) brought it to Rhodes attention and got a reply then published it,it sells news papers.More to do with Rhodes being a bit green behind the gills getting caiught out with that one old chestnut.Like u say it would never have seen the light of day otherwise, but u can understand why big Frank is keen to put this kind of stuff down when it appears on Boxing websites about him.Come to think of it maybe its a slur campaign against Rhodes with someone who recently has an axe to grind.
Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
Journalists have to be nosey. Then again, I remember one journo in the 80s accosting Boy George at an airport.SexySouthPaw wrote:I beleive some nosey Journo has been trawling the net and has seen the comment about Rhodes failing a drug test,he has wisely (in his case) brought it to Rhodes attention and got a reply then published it,it sells news papers.More to do with Rhodes being a bit green behind the gills getting caiught out with that one old chestnut.Like u say it would never have seen the light of day otherwise, but u can understand why big Frank is keen to put this kind of stuff down when it appears on Boxing websites about him.Come to think of it maybe its a slur campaign against Rhodes with someone who recently has an axe to grind.
'George, do you have AIDS?'
'No, of course I don't. F*ck off.'
Headline the next morning 'BOY GEORGE DENIES AIDS RUMOURS'.
Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
How can someone just make an assumption' ie (bulging veins)' or thought thay had herd something' (a thought) publish it. And cause a sporting legend in sheffield loads of grief '
the pudendum wants putting in front of ryan. To explain what he thought he herd.

Not for one minute that I think Ryan is on anything - I do not think he is.
But your statement sounds idiotic to say the least.
Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
If I may comment:
1. I have no idea if Ryan Rhodes has ever taken banned substances. As a fan of the sport, I 've always liked Ryan, a real go for it fighter (I've always thought the feinted jab works well for you best, but never mind) and so therefore I'd be amazed if you were juiced.
2. Innuendo is not a nice trait.
3. Expanding on 2, if someone wants to make an allegation that is offensive, simply make it in person and don't hide behind a fake username.
I have two simple rules on any internet forum:
a) only say what you would say to a person's face;
b) no cloak of anonymity.
I would be genuinely interested in the views of anyone who diverges from this, and if so, why.

yep i'm on steroids myself and look athletic not huge as different steroids have different efects.MachoMan09 wrote:I'm not going to comment on Ryan specifically because I don't know one way or the other. As for veins they certainly do stick out more.
havnt noticed any extra on my head tho ;)
I have been doing steroids for years mind and i reckon i can spot the athletes that are PROBABLY on them.

I may have missed it, but what forum was this?
Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
I think it would be silly to assume that enhancement drugs are not used widely in boxing, especially in America where the tests are hardly adequate.
Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
I find it interesting you have only just signed up, and then say drugs are used "Widely" in boxing........have any proof of this?goldbird wrote:I think it would be silly to assume that enhancement drugs are not used widely in boxing, especially in America where the tests are hardly adequate.
Gaining an unfair advantage, that could potentially be fatal, should be a criminal offence.

Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
Right lads. This is bollocks
Ryan isn't on any drugs.
I've searched around the internet and I've found the original source of this comment. It came from a fan response on this news piece http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/04092010/ ... fight.html
If you read the comments at the bottom you'll see it. Comments of this kind are much the same as the stupid comments people make on forums and it holds no weight whatsoever.
I'm disappointed that an experienced journalist like Bob Westerdale would take a comment from a forum and try and make a story out of it.

Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
I agree but isn't Wesderdale Ryan Rhodes pal? Surely Rhodes is the one that has highlighted it and like Willaim Hague has himself brought a 'rumour' to the wider public forum. Daft move and probably best to leave it alongside 'buses on the moon' and such like in the depths of the internet.
However, If Rhodes is to seek redress through the Courts for this 'slur' then once again, Boxrec haing repeated and published it by way of a link so have in effect repeated the libel have they not?
The best thing to do is to surely take it down off this forum and let it revert to the junk bin along with all the other rumours.
Of course, as long as Rhodes has no history whatsoever of any failed dope tests then he will no doubt be suitably compensated by any legal action. However, if he does have any history then any action would badly backfire so he'sd better be clean and with no previous.
For a guy who's spend nearly 15 years in or around 11 stone I'd be surprised if any misuse had taken place.

Re: Rhodes furious about drug claims
Shame on the immoral cunttard who started such slanderous accusations without any base to them
Boxing isnt a bodybuilding show. As someone who has been in the ring, I know weight making and building up your lungs cut muscle like anything.
The reason he might have veins bulging in his head is due to dehydration.
Shame on this cowardly individual who started this.
As an aside was Ryan Rhodes on Gamesmaster? I remember Gary mason and Frank bruno on that punching game circa 1991-1992 but surely gamesmaster was after rhodes time?

Don't be silly (in the quoted post and also that awful insult to Carl). There's nothing illegal about posting a link to a website. What an absolutely ridiculous suggestion.boxingchat wrote:I agree but isn't Wesderdale Ryan Rhodes pal?
