THERE ARE ALWAYS DEBATES ABOUT WHO WAS THE BEST BOXER OF ALL TIME , AND THE ARGUMENTS RAGE ON . BUT WHO WAS THE TOUGHEST OF ALL TIME ? HARRY GREB AND MICKEY WALKER , FROM STORIES OF THE TIME , APPEAR TO BE CONTENDERS GIVEN HOW OFTEN THEY FOUGHT AND THE RANGE OF WEIGHT CATEGORIES . OUR OWN FREDDIE MILLS JUST GOT INTO THE RIMG AND STORMED FORWARD THROWING PUNCHES OFTEN AGAINST MEN FAR BIGGER , LIKE JOE BAKSI . MY OWN SUGGESTION IS MUCH MORE MODERN FIGHTER AND THAT IS GEORGE CHUVALO . HE FOUGHT ALL THE TOP HEAVIES , OVER A PERIOD WHICH MANY WOULD AGREE WAS THE BEST , AND I THINK ONLY GEORGE FOREMAN STOPPED HIM TOWARDS THE END . I HAVE SEEN MANY RECORDINGS OF HIS BOUTS AND HE SHOWED NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE'S PUNCHING POWER - HE JUST KEPT COMING .

Sad to say that former heavyweight opponent Lorenzo Boyd will die shortly without a kidney transplant.

Boyd was no world-beater but went in there with the very best and that, surely, is an accomplishment in itself.
