People are questioning the sport of boxing all the time but if you are to look at Britain the sport could not look better , the only problem is that big tv companies like the BBC and ITV are not picking up boxing which is shocking considering it would due more views than any sport apart from soccer (football.)
Britain currently owns 3 world champions, WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye , who perhaps is letting the side down a little fighting Audely Harrison instead of the Klitchsko Brothers or a top contender like Tomaz Adamek. But certainly Haye is the most exciting heavyweight to come along in years and this fight will capture the imagination of Great Briatin becasue of the history of Harrison. The second world champion is Amir Khan perhaps the next face of Boxing , the kid has it all speed, power, footwork, a great team behind him and big drawing power already. The only thing that might stop Amir in his tracks is his suspect chin but apart from that Khan could become the King of a deeply talent pack of 140 pounders. Thirdly and newest champion to Britain is Ricky Burns of Scotland, he wreslted the title away from previously unbeaten Roman Martinez in a thriller and the future could be bright for Burns because he could become the top man in perhaps not the best divison of talent at super featherweight.
Birtain also has two world title fights in the super bantamweight division , Jason Booth takes on Steve Moliter of Canada for the IBF strap and Britain's most famous binman Rendall Munroe travels to Japan to challenge the WBC king Toshiaki Nishioka, i believe both men have a good chance of winning there respected fights. Britain also has Carl Froch who is now in the semi-final with Arthuer Abraham and if he is victorius could face ethier Andre Ward or Andre Dirrell in the final which could end up being a unifcation match for the WBC/WBA tiles along with being named the Super Six champion.
We also have a bunch of contenders that could soon be fighting for world titles themselfs. Here is a list, Nathan Cleverly, Matthew Macklin, Ryan Rhodes, John Murray, Kell Brook, Brian Magee, Darren Barker, Paul McCloskey, Matthew Hatton and Martin Linsey. These fighter are not too far away from world title shots so in the next year or two Britain i believe could be doing extremly well on the world scene.
We also have some really exciting young contenders coming up who could also go on to world honours. Here is the list, Tyson Fury, James Degale, Frankie Gavin( i believe to be the best of the lot), Billy-Joe Saunders, Derik Chisora, Sam Sexton, Joe Murray, Tom Dallas, David Price, Paul Appleby, John O'Donnell, Paul Smith, Steven Smith, Denton Vassell, Danny Mcintosh, Tony Bellew, Jamie Cox and Larry Olubamiwo. Now i understand most of these contenders may fail to reach european level but its great to see such a deep stack of talent in Britain and with this potential coming though this can only be good for Great Britain.

Surely even you as his mate would have to acknowledge that:
a) he's done nothing to remotely merit one yet
b) he's got a lot of work to do before he can challenge for one and have a realistic chance of winning
