Abraham was very clearly getting to Dirrell as the fight wore on, despite the referees interventions. I think on home turf Abraham would be able to (legitimately) beat Dirrell.

As for Ward, I'm completely with you on that. He's horrible to watch. Like Timothy Bradley is. I just can't stand guys who spoil and/or lead with their heads.

I think one thing the current super six and super middle scene has done recently is show what a decent boxer Joe Calzaghe was....

Dominated Kessler, a Kessler who beat Froch, who beat Dirrell and Taylor.

Calzaghe beat Bika etc....He'd have won the Super Six at a canter IMO

In his prime, I think so too, providing his hands held up enough.

he would never have done anything so risky as a super 6. he took risks when he was closing in on 20 defenses.

I don't know about that. Do you think AA was winning the final round before the cheap shot? He dropped Dirrell in round ten, but I thought it was pretty clear Dirrell had recovered and was outboxing him in the eleventh.

I agree with those who say that Ward has very good skills but isn't great to watch. He is better to watch than Dirrell mind you. Calzaghe would have beaten both of them for me, and I think Froch has a decent chance against Ward if he can dispose of Abraham. I reckon it would be a dirty, ugly fight though.

Dirrell was absolutely sh!tting himself. Abraham was getting closer and closer to landing the money shot, regardless of Dirrell winning the round. With a neutral referee and a home location I think it would be a different story. We'll never get to see that, though, as Dirrell wouldn't accept it.
