In an interview in this weeks Fighting Fit, Billy Smith says he earns about £1,500 for four rounders, £2,500 for 6, and around £3,500 for eight.

Are journeymen subject to as much tax/paycuts as other boxers? So Billy would be taking home roughly half of them numbers, or would he get nearer the full sum?

If he takes in the full sum, that means he has had some pretty good years in terms of salary. In 2010 he fought 17 times with about half being 6 rounders. The only problem is, imagine how much punishment he took in those fights. He goes the distance over 90% of the time and he's losing many rounds. It is not an easy job for sure.

Gav Nicholls. 2-2 I think. we should have a decider for your British title...... only it would have to be at cruiserweight. :)
