The argument isn't out of place on this thread as it kicked right off after the show in Sunderland, started inside the venue then went right off in the car park.

Didn't surprise me one bit mind over half the crowd were mortal drunk.

I seen Michael Hunter with a couple of hangers on following him around, was that you?

I also seen Real Deal and managed to avoid him like the plague, it wasn't easy but necessary if I wanted to enjoy the evening.

This despite giving away over a stone in weight, been on holiday all of last week and having a very inexperienced/ questionable trainer. Great win for him though.

Hopefully Sky will show it- four round stoppage i hear.
Jeff ,[the mouse] Thomas, never acheived anything has a fighter,he isnt even a trainer, just attends the gym where the local un-licensed lads train, doesnt even hold a trainers license, told every body in the gym, Rik Turba was going to get beat by Dickenson, that was to be expected, as he goes for what the stats suggested, and not what his experience should have told him, totally negative attitude, mumbles like a little mouse, cant install confidence into himself,so how could he have installed confidence into a fighter to go out and beat Dickenson in his own back yard, fights are won and lost in gyms, you failed as a amatuer at my gym, then failed as a proffesional, and now you sit tapping a key board, because people cant see your face here, its not looking down at your shoes, key boards dont mumble like little mice, list the champions you have worked with, then maybe we can further this topic in person, not on a key board. wheres the cheese.
I left your gym after 3-4 fights as an amatuer because I realised even at just 13 that you had very little to offer other then speaking 'confidence building' rubbish, on leaving you I won the North West NABCS, North West Novices and reached the North West finals of the ABA's - as a pro close loss to Commonwealth champion Lee McAllister, World champ Ricky Burns, former WBO number one contender Steve Murray plus wins over a few area champs and fighting for the national title. Much more then I could have hoped to have achieved witha pretender. . It seems a little lost on you that my moderate achievements amateur and pro outshine yours no end.... Because you haven't got any. Not sure exactly what your on about, Which champions have you worked with? Does working with- mean volunteering your time at a gym holding pads? Where have I called myself a trainer? Having taken my time going to college and learning off decent trainers around the country i'm serving an apprentiship that will allow me to be a good trainer in the future- am I good one now- not really , got lots more to learn before i'd say that? I'm learning and more knowwlegable people then yourself insist i'm on the right track.

With regards to the 'in person' threat? Seriously Sam am I meant to be afraid? i'll be at the gym tonight, on my own, as always- i'm not hard to find make sure you play fair. Surely I thought you would have learned your lesson after Roy Finlay threw you around like an empty tracksuit.

No, I wanted to go and was offered a lift at half hour's notice but I'd arranged something with the Mrs. To go to the pub actually and see it on Sky....only they had a live band on FFS and football on the other box....can't really turn over football in a pub on a Saturday night.

I had planned on making a round trip of it but as I don't have a car it would have meant trains/hotels/taxis etc. I didn't know anyone else going so saved the 200 quid plus it would have cost me and the Mrs for a rainy day....

Bit disappointed as I am told that Booth impressed in fact somebody who knows about these things even had him winning, plus I wanted to support the lad, can't go to them all tho. Sounded like a decent show. There were 2 bouts on after you left I am told, not sure who tho..

Not a chance he won it but did put up a good fight for the first 6 rounds, for the money it was a excellent card, ticket was £35 and I was about 30ft away from the ring.

I must thank you Adam You are obviously a genuine user and not Jeff Thomas logging in pretending to be Roy Finlay,or any other of these brave box rec users afraid to use their real names, I have worked corners in world title fights and trained world and british champions, I am currently working with two future champion's from Blackpool, Rik Turba, and Matty Askin, my reputation cant be taken away from me by a green eyed little man on a computer keyboard, reputations are earned in gyms, and corners. Jeff Thomas did not learn a thing in his short time as a registered trainer, he did not train 1 proffesional fighter, did not work 1 corner,
If anyone wants to know who I am, ask Michael Jennings, ask Robin Reid, Andy Abrol , Karl Etherigton, if your from Blackpool, or ask the most respected and senior trainer in Britain, ask Brian Hughes, who Sam Betts is,
I HAVE EARNED MY REPUTATION IN THE GYMS OF THIS COUNTRY, WITH GREAT FIGHTERS, ASK YOUR SELF WHY TWO BLACKPOOL FIGHTERS FROM THE SAME GYM AS JEFF THOMAS EMPLOY ME AND NOT HIM.
JEFF THOMAS IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED BY THE BOXING BOARD OF CONTROL FOR NONE PAYMENT OF LICEINSE, AFTER HOLDING ONE FOR ONLY 1 YEAR.
I think its a sham that Box Rec allows this man to log in and out of these forums under different name to try to bring down my good name, untill box rec removes this fraudster who masquerades as a genuine trainer of proffesionals, I will not take part in any more of these forums, as they contain as much genuine information as a comic book. Its a disgrace that a failed suspended trainer should be allowed to do this. if anyone else wants to slag me off on here at least be brave enough to use your real name.

Carlos Hughes here Sam, Hello.

I have read what you have written and posted and I don't know if your beef with Jeff Thomas is genuine or it is not or wherever it is warranted. I am sure you can sort it all out for yourselves without the aid of this forum.

I will say this though, to say that the patrons of these forums are 'brown noses' and the place has more correct information than a 'comic book' well, without being rude Sam, no-one asked you to come and no-one is asking you to stay - get lost! And this goes for anyone in the pro game who wants to lord it over us on here. I am only a fan personally and I don't pretend to be the oracle in regards what goes on behind the scenes - but I'll tell you something, without me and the rest of us brown nosing wankers who haven't a clue - you have no sport! Without the fans - you would be nothing! Boxing would be nothing! I was going to say without us the sport would be behind crown green bowling and motocross but it wouldn't even be that down the list - it would be banned! Hey, let me tell you something also - the reason why it isn't banned is nothing to do with anyone in the bloody sport - it is down to the fans who keep paying out their hard earned money in keeping it in the mainstream - there are a lot of very important people who would be only too happy to get rid of professional pugilism, you know it and I know it.

I don't mind you being on here, your first post was inflammatory and if people are giving you grief then thats the reason. I don't know you from Adam (no pun intended) but insulting us on here isn't going to get you the desired results. Whatever they may be. Good luck with what you do and have a nice life. :TU:

Have to confess Betty I am not Roy Finlay (whoever he may be) I am as you state a ‘sad impostor’ (on the evidence of your posts thus far Betty I hardly feel you are in a position to call anyone ‘sad’)

Nor am I Jeff Thomas as you assert (ask a Mod to check IP Address if you wish)

I HAVE EARNED MY REPUTATION IN THE GYMS OF THIS COUNTRY

Never heard of you Betty, did a quick Google and found a clip of you displaying very poor technique on the pads with Matty Askin. Also mentioned your name to an associate of mine who IS a respected trainer/manager, his response:

‘Sam Betts …. How do you know that c*ck?’

Oh dear Betty

Whatever reputation you have (or think you have) is now in tatters after your quite bizarre behaviour on Boxrec, from your very first post you’ve been spitting bile at Jeff (who I don’t know but on the evidence of his posts seems a decent bloke) your semi literate, self aggrandising screeds portray you as angry, bitter, deluded little man

Quote of 2010:

‘if your looking for a fight, thats best, no ploice come back then is there’

I have to admit this thread is entertaining! Sam I think the forum will be lost without your input. I'm not sure why you keep posting about my expired trainers licence- to go to the trouble of calling the board to check its validity- you must have a lot of time on you hands between training all these fighters.

We could go into an argument about professional fitness qualifications if you like? Rather then do that- and continue making a right idiot of yourself, how about you pipe down or attack me at the gym like you said you were going to? Or is that just made up as well?

I understand Brian Hughes and Pat Barrett train Askin, i've never seen you in his corner once? I'm doing an interview with him for boxrec this weekend and apparently you take him on the pads every couple of weeks when you can get down. Other then that you just bring slovak down for sparring. Not really training him is it? Who was in the corner when Askin won the ABA's? Who was in the corner for all of askins amateur bouts from first to last? Andy Sumner and Tony Moran.

Rick is a very good fighter and will have fair results regardless of who walks him to the ring. Intrestingly I understand Rick goes to a strength and conditioning coach to condition himself. Seeming as he already know's how to box what input do you have? I'm bored Sam, bored of flitting from one debate to the other while I 'defend' myself against someone whose boxing achievements are zero. Other then made up participation, in name fighters careers. For example, you weren't in the corner for Jennings Cotto, like you tell people.

Like i said we both know the facts regardless of what you type here. Askin, Delaney, Myself, Campbell, Finlay, Ellis, Veitch, Boswell, Abrol, Cardle all fighters who for whatever reason trained with you at one time or another but left for BETTER coaches.

What makes you a good coach- explain to me what piece of concrete evidence that you know anymore then anyone else? Honest i've nothing left to say- you started all of this- remember that.

I do agree with that Machoman- while I appreciate whoever made the profile was just having a bit of a laugh at our expense it's unfair to bring him into the debate and something i'm sure Roy wouldn't want to happen. MM how do you know me? I agree Sam Betts is a hard worker and has done well for himself- nice family, nice kids we used to get on. Credit where credits due- but from my point of view. I offered an honest opinion - and was threatened and ridiculed for it. Of course i'm going to defend myself. Thats my nature and if people don't like that then thats unfortunate.
