The Contender (avoiding spoilers)

Post by darkstar81 »

Just watched the second last fight. Want to set up a thread here to avoid the US spoilers in the current scene thread. I got hit with some and its not as exciting when you know whats gonna happen

Who do people think is gonna win?

From the 6mins of each fighter i've seen i think its between one of Ishe, Peter or Sergio.

id deffinetly go wth the 3 you mentioned!! some twat in the current scene didnt give a heads up and told me about a fight i REALLY didnt wana know about!!

i like peter's chances of winning the thing even tho he lost to gomez, i thyink he was maybe too confident and under estimated him!!

Ishe, he seems quite the talker, but at the same time seems a little timid. but again, is an excellent fighter,

and sergio i thin k is doing well, as hes very big and has alot of skill!!

but out of the 3, i think peter!!

ishe talks smack when someone shouts back like ahmad did he couldnt really take it but he can box though.

manfredo's got the best record and now he's tasted defeat it'll spur him on, he's actually my favourite to win and i think he'd beat alfonso if they met again.

watched it on itv2 for the first time and they cut out quite a lot when they show it on itv1.

anyone else wonder why the hell brent cooper was there, he'd fought a bunch of nobodies!

but it'll get interesting now the good fighters are through. no-one really stands out as someone who could go the distance with hopkins, trinidad etc but then we havent seen much of the fights

Ishe is the more well known and also the probably has the best skills - however, I'm not sure of the weight differential but he seems one of the smaller guys - He is natural Welter - he didn't seem to have that big a punch.

I hope its the guy who beat Manfredo, who a scream of "fix" would it be in Manfredo wins this thing.

Like you guys... I think its gonna be out of Sergio, Ishe and Peter. My money is on Sergio though, i think he's quality, and think he could surprise a few people.

I'd like to see Joey do well though.... he seems like a good lad, and although they haven't shown much of him boxing and training... he is a monster in the tasks. Yesterday he pretty much won the task for his team yet again.

In the US, we're only down to the final 6, although we do know what the last two matchups are before the final 4 -- the stuff in the other thread is only speculation.

Do you guys know how the show is doing ratings-wise in the UK?

i wasn't impressed with ishe, infact ahmed was very unlucky IMO..
peter manfrado got beat by a blown up welter and didn't look much when he came back.

sergio and basonte looked the best so far...

And not, contrary to popular belief, steering clear of the back parts of cars

lol i saw this souped up ford fiesta the other day with a ridiculous spoiler i mean it was about 2 feet high! twat.

im being sad and avoiding the results of the contender from the current scene threads so i don't want anybody on here giving away results

actually what i saw as the final might just have been someone's opinion thinking about it....

i liked juan de la rosa even though sly et al weren't too impressed. maybe its just cos i think he's got a cool name

I saw a result I didn't want to as well. Pissed me right off (the result, and finding out about it).

Hopefully someone will chin Bonsante. He totally screwed three other fighters, including his own bloody roommate. I understand their all against each other at the end of the day, but that has nothing to do with honesty.

too right, understand why he did it but boxers should have honour and he took the easy option

anyone know if itv will show the final live? its at the end of the month so they might show it a few weeks later as they are ahead in the states but i hope they show it in its entirety with commentators not sound effects
