How long has the UK had womens boxing? Well done with four women still in the tournament. The high performance programs for both Ireland and England have work really well and provided results. USAB has a long way to go to catch up in that area.
Katie Taylor is far and above the best women boxer in the world and makes her wins look easy.

There are three english and one welsh lady listed as from the UK.
I would argue that Taylor is not the best as she was well beaten by Sofia Ochigava earlier this year. The Russian girl is injured at the moment and may not return until 2011.A rematch to savour when it comes around.

Wow, I hadn't heard that Taylor got beat. That Russian must be one tough and good boxer to beat Taylor. Was it in a tournament? That would be a rematch that I would want to see.

Ochigava has been around for some time, she is a double world champion and three time european champion at lower weights.
She made her lightweight debut at the top level in March at the Usti tournament where she defeated Taylor 8-1 in the semi-finals before winning the final.
Her last loss was in 2008 when Jian Qin beat her in the World championship at feather 6-4.
Taylor may have had a bad day at the Usti but these two girls will surely clash at London 2012,if not before.
