Michigan boxers Mary Jo Sanders, Johnathon Banks and Octavio Lara were all victorious tonight in their co-headlining bouts in front of 9000+ fans at the Palace of Auburn Hills. While Sanders (Louise Theobold at 1:52) and Banks (Abdul Shabazz at :43) scored first-round knockouts over relatively novice opponents, Lara was forced to work harder for his six-round unanimous decision over a determined Lee DeLeon of Houston (final scores 60-54, 60-54 and 59-55). With the victory, Sanders, a female P4P entrant, moved her record to 15-0 (5). The power punching Banks is now 6-0 (6) and Lara goes to 4-1 (3). --Andre Courtemanche- April 29 -
