Jackson Asiku i believe now with Gary Shaw is fighting Jhonny Gonzalez in the US, it's good to see Asiku get a good opportunity and he's in for a fight.

Gonzales finished Irene Pacheco's career four years ago at bantamweight. Could be interesting.

I've seen Gonzalez fight live, this is one heck of a test for Asiku. Should be a cracker of a fight while it lasts!

Heres a list of names that Gonzalez has fought beat and lost to.

Irene Pacheco W
Israel Vazquez L
Fernando Montiel W
Mark Johnson W
Gerry Penalosa L

Not too bad of a fighter he certainly has the better resume, but i feel Asiku is ready to have a go, all the best to Asiku.

But you have to give Jackson credit for heading overseas and taking on a top liner, unlike a certain imposter who went to Europe once, full of himself, got ko'd and has done SFA in recent times.

apparently it was a really exciting fight.

anyone see it?

asiku apparrently got to america only on the day of the weigh in. he probably would have had a better career if his promoters had actually been able to get him fights that would prepare him for contests like these.

gonzalez can really punch, even up at featherweight. it's good to see the mexican back on form.

I havent seen the fight but if it was exciting up until the end, it shouldnt do Jacksons career too much damage. The exposure in the US is what its about, especially at that weight. As with katsidis I would rather see him in some exciting losses against top notch opponents than stay in Australia and fight over matched imports. Lets hope a re match is on the cards. Well done Jackson.

autobarn,

if he did only arrive when u said, then that is terrible. as if it wasn't already a hard enough task for him.

he took ahorrifying beating in rds 4, 5 and 6, apparently.

i hope he isn't ruined by this.

hopefully they get him back in there vs someone like miguel roman or rogers mtagwa - would be a war, i reckon.
