I don't think this will last long, either way. Don't know THAT much about Frenkel so no idea if he can take a shot or not.

If he's as suspect as Big Enzo, it'll be edge of the seat stuff. He can crack, Frenkel, for sure, and we all know Enzo can.

Enzo gets stopped after trying to blow out Frenkel in the opening round & failing :box:

Take the 7/4 while you can!

Dont know much about Frenkel to be honest but i hope Enzo wins. I've always liked the guy, rarely does a bad interview. I just hope he keeps his chin low and avoids getting clipped early on

Your right Ian it will be a cracker while it lasts.. We all know about Enzo and not so much about Frenkel.. Watched him twice and he likes to throw the short left hook with the right straight after it... Hope Enzo wins but i reckon when this guy lands its goodnight.. :KO:

Here's what I said in an earlier topic:
I've just watched a couple of Frenkel's fights (Nagy and Davis) and I'm not impressed. He's not a big puncher, he's small for a cruiser and he's there to be hit. If Big Macc is OK then he'll get Frenkel out of there.

I was under the impression, from Frenkel's record and the way he has been talked about, that he's a potential World title holder.

Plus points, Frenkel seems to have good stamina (for 8 rounds) and has a nice uppercut. The fight with Maccarinelli is likely to be fought at distance, though (where Enzo has a reach advantage).

Gotta go with Frenkel for an early stoppage.

Frenkel ko/fight lasts less than 6 rounds double. Not bad odds.

Where can you get that bet on and what are the odds mate?

I know it's 5/6 for the fight to last less than 6 rounds.

Stupidly I thought you could bet on both as a double, but when I tried to put it on, I couldn`t.

I`ll just go single bets on Frenkel to win by KO in rounds 1,2,3 and 4.

I watched a few fights of Alexander Frenkel yesterday.

His opposition has been pretty poor.

He looks like he has a good jab and decent power, likes to throw short uppercuts full force.

His movement is steady but not quick and he is pretty rigid. Also I'm not convinced he has great stamina, looks like he flags from the 8th round.

I'm gonna say Enzo can win this one. I think he will find Frenkels chin often enough.

I fancy Enzo to get him out of there quickly in this one. Not seen much of Frenkel but like everyone else has said, he seems smaller with less reach than big Mac. The intelligent fighter here would keep out of harms way, and that short uppercut Frenkel seems to favour, and let the reach advantage come into play.

He's gone back to basics, seems to feel a lot more comfortable with where he is, and in a way, the pressure is off him now after those losses.

My head says it will be a difficult fight for him, but my heart says Enzo to get him out of there in three action packed rounds.

I think it's a true 50/50, there are things to like and dislike about both fighters. But I see the value as Frenkel at 7/4 by KO/TKO, which is available at a few places and on Betfair. I don't see why the bookies have made Enzo such a clear fave against an undefeated fighter with a bit of a punch, maybe they know something I don't. Frenkel looks ot have great hooks and uppercuts, in the style of Lebedev who hooked Enzo's head off nearly.

For those interested, I've done a betting preview piece for this fight at my site: Boxing Betting.

I see it as a 50/50 as well. Even though I think Enzo is better, I don't have enough faith in him protecting his chin for the duration. It's possible the outcome depends on how good Frenkel's chin is. Both Afolabi and Lebedev are very tough.

The odds suggest that Frenkel is by no means a no hoper in this fight.

I was expecting Frenkel to be about 11/4 or something for the win and 4/1 for the stoppage.

When you consider that Ola Alfobai was 9/2 for the win and a whopping 8/1 for the stoppage.

The problem is - I think Enzo was flattered by his last win - when he beat up a tomatoe can who offered absolutely no resistance.

If he fights a capable fighter like Frenkel - who can hit back - the same old weaknesses will be exposed again.

I hope Enzo wins.

But I think Frenkel will stop him.

bookies often get it wrong when it comes to boxing

they just go with the home fighter - the "name" fighter

its not who the bookies think is going to win - its just about who all the money is going to come for - the home name fighter.

If your shrewd and know different - than you can make easy money betting on the underdog.

I fancy Enzo on this one. I know he has been suspect before and got found out massively, but this time round he just looks a different fighter. I hope he proves a few people wrong and goes on for another world title shot.

Enzo was out classed massively against Haye who was leagues above anyone in that division. Before that fight Mac had a great technique and always boxed well, i think after that fight he lost his head a little and lost fights he really shouldnt have.

Afolabi is a good example - Mac winning the fight, anyone watching could see ola was leaning back and looking to land the bomb, but mac was so desperate for the win he didnt step back and box he just stuck in there got knackered and was then sparked.

I dont know anything about Frenkel but i know if mac turns up with his head screwed on then he is capable of topping the CW divison again.

frenkel doesn't look special, but he can definitely hit, and lets his shots go in combos, so it could be exicting.

i agree that adamek and cunningham were true tests for haye, but can see why he went for macca. with the whole domestic battle angle, and the puncher vs puncher angle, which got all of us so worked up. and obviously this fight made some money, with a big live gate, and TV money from setanta and showtime.

It's an interesting fight. The Germans are obviously confident, to allow their well protected prospect to venture out of safe surroundings to take on a battle hardened puncher like Macca.
It's all about grabbing that Euro title, because they wont be getting paid much for this little trip ( surely FW wont be laying out much here, as his confidence in Enzo will have been severely dented of late ).

While they are obviously eyeing up Enzo's famously suspect chin, you have to wonder about their boy's chin. He's faced pretty much No One, and his record looks a bit suspect ( as in littered with all the usual suspects )
Presumably he wont have been hit as hard as Enzo will hit him, so it'll be interesting to see how he reacts.

Maybe he wont blink, take Macca's best, and come blasting back. He looks fairly solid from the youtube videos, very hard one to call - maybe the Ukranian gets the edge, but you can be sure Enzo will be looking to test his chin and heart, to see if he's got what it takes.

this is possibly the fight i am looking forward to most out of all of them.

in the sense that its Enzo and just about anything could happen.

i was thrilled that he went away and grabbed the belt in russia, and it seems fireworks are guaranteed tomorrow.
