Notice this was down to 10 from 12 and now DeGale doesn't make weight.

Theyv'e obviously known he was struggling.

It's always been a 10, as an eliminator for a British title. Been no mention of WBA international title for weeks.

He failed by 3oz, hardly Joan Guzman

In the 'good old days' this would have been for the WBU 'WORLD' title. Now a mere British title eliminator ..... pah!

Degale has improved hugely with each fight, he'll batter Dilks.

x3 I think he slaps when he throws punches sometimes. (and I've had 20 quid on Dilks, so I'm trying to find any tiny weakness.)

Cheers for that.
Yep, thanks. Realise I probably sound like a stuck record but every single time I see or read anything about him, Enzo just comes across as a class act and this is no exception. I far prefer to see the sportsmanship displayed by the likes of Enzo, Frenkel and Hall and his opponent than the cheap antics on show here from Cleverley and Dilks (even though I like both of the latter and hope they win).

Aspect ratio issue, unfortunately. One of those cheap Flip HD camcorders would have done a much better job.

Some other observations: The size difference between Enzo and Frenkel isn't as big as I was expecting. Hall and Koceny look like brothers, Clevery looks confident, Murat looks nervous. Degale is a tit as usual. And since when do boxers (the shorts) weigh a pound? Do fighters who are a pound overweight typically make the weight simply by removing them? I think Degale just likes getting naked in front of large groups of men.
DeGale said in an interview that he was only an ounce over. I don't know what's true.

I hope that Carl Dilks realises what DeGale is doing. DeGale wants Dilks to be aggressive and attempt to trade. Dilks looked far too riled up at the weigh in. DeGale was the same as always.

No, DeGale is a counter-puncher.

Best of luck to Carl Dilks. Hope the PPV sales for this are extremely low though. Could be a bad precedent set tomorrow otherwise.

They all look confident don't they, especially the two German based fighters. I thought it was Cleverly who looked a bit nervous, over doing it with the stare down. The other guy looks a VERY confident opponent. He was just a bit surprised Cleverly wasn't being a bit more relaxed about just another fight.
And the Welshman's girlfriend appeared to have brought him bantamweight size pants, which is never a good sign.

The only boxers applauding their opponents were the Eastern Europeans. Even hard man Hall couldn't help smiling. Chisora looks a real character, funny move with the sock down the pants, hope he wins but maybe he's too confident? Sexton looks really up for this.

You might think it's a bad precedent, but it's only PPV success that has got Sky interested in covering the sport.

Two world title fights in two weeks and the return of Ringside and they showed the Klitschko fight live too.. That all costs money.

If PPV flops, it could be back to Friday nights with Denton Vassell Commonwealth title fights.

Besides which, tonights show is better than all of last year's Friday Night Fights put together. £15 is well worth that.

we'll see...

just over £2 a fight isn't bad, especially not for me, as i've canceled my subscription and the only live boxing i get is on PPV.

i honestly don't think all the fights are that great. for instance matthew hall (replacing rhodes) is hardly hot after losing to anthony small, is he. though he should match up very well to konekny in a battle of sawn off light middleweights.

and brook v jennings i see as a showcase for brook's speed that is honestly well overdue.

some of the other matchups have got me interested, though.

Exactly.Do you think Sky will be showing anything like this again, if it's a failure ?

We should all be hoping for good PPV and attendance figures tonight, I've just paid, we're not going to see anymore 7/8 hour fight extravaganzas like this if it's a disaster. FW deserves support for putting on a show like this, when so many are deserting the sport.
