if it mean's i get too see competitive fight's especially between two brits, then bring it on.
i know we pay 40 a month for sky, but that is with 800 other channels & friday fight night's aint worth staying in for or attending imo.
this bill is stacked top to bottom abit ufc like. warren should pay out bonuses like dana white for fight of the night & ko & publicise it so the public no there is added incentive for the fighters to earn more.

Re: Im all for ppv......
There were more competitive fights between domestic boxers before PPV.
Just take a look at the search engine of this very site.
PPV is killing boxing and it is killing the chance of boxers to earn more money outside the ring. Thats just my take on it all. Of course, Fwank makes a killing so it should continue.

It's the infinite amount of split titles, weight divisions and other lucrative sports like American football, basketball & football etc ( taking the best athletes ) that are killing boxing. PPV is just a result of it - the sport surviving the only way it can: by directly asking the hard core fans to pay for the big expensive shows, or watch them sink instead. If it's poor value for money, people don't pay. Tonight looks value for money.Carlos-Wigan wrote: PPV is killing boxing

but isnt boxing a buisness were promoter's pad out there fighters record & take them the lowest risk route possible??
how many promoter's work with one another aswell, they are all guilty carlos.
i think multiple titles has ruined the game, like degales title is meaningless in order for him to get rounds when he is more then capable of english & area titles.

Of course MW, totally agree, there are several factors killing boxing but PPV is the one where no-one except the promoter benefits. The jist of Hurlock's OP was that PPV brought about this card when the facts are that competitve domestic clashes have been around long before PPV.MightyWarrior wrote:It's the infinite amount of split titles, weight divisions and other lucrative sports like American football, basketball & football etc ( taking the best athletes ) that are killing boxing. This is it, it has stopped being a sport - there used to be a pretence that it was and shit like rankings and eliminators mattered but now they have dropped the pretence and we are now treated to many 10-0 prospects fighting 2-86-1 journeymen - which never used to happen at the rate its happening now. I think Mick Hennessey has been a shining light where he has matched his stable tough to the detriment of his fighters but Mick understands that people will come to watch a good fight. Tonight's card is a good one but it is rare to have so many good fights on one card in this country, secondly - why is there a need for PPV when folk are paying 44 quid a month for boxing on sky? No reason except greed.hurlock wrote:but isnt boxing a buisness were promoter's pad out there fighters record & take them the lowest risk route possible??
