yeah, i'm sure he could easily take those 2 evil left hooks, after seeing him countered by murat - blown up super middle - with left hooks every time he threw his own wild rights...

frenkel needs a lot of work - but what a puncher. he's maybe just landed himself in the super 6 cruiserweights.

really didn't think frenkel would be this cagey. what a brilliant first knockdown, the way he ducked under macca's shot, came up and turned over his own shot...
And just maybe Cleverly wouldn't be so dismissive of Frenkel. I think Enzo made Frenkel look more of a puncher than he is.

Time will tell. My bet is Frenkel doesn't go on to take the world by storm or anything close to it.

After the high of Cleverly/Murat, that's killed my buzz, poor Enzo.
I kind of feel the same, not sure what to say.

MASSIVE KO! Enzo was starting to get a nice hold in the fight, I had him a couple of rounds up, I thought the commentary was a bit biased and Frenkel was doing good things off the back foot earlier on but Enzo was taking a hold in the fight. Then BANG, he got reckless once and that's all it takes with Enzo, he was clearly just an accident waiting to happen. Ref was a disgrace letting him carry on, that was so dangerous Frenkel got a free shot on him at the end.

?????
From Wikipedia
Some cultures have tended to view the vulva as something shameful that should be hidden. For example, the term pudendum, which denotes the external genitalia, literally means "shameful thing".
So, East European fanny - not a bad thing really.

The Macklin match up is a disgrace. The EBU need to take a long hard look at themselves sanctioning this. Jomardashvili is barely a club fighter. I saw his fight against Kodzoev and he was awful, all action bully for about 3 minutes and then just got ground down. Lost to Murray too. If you look at his record he's effectively got about 25 gym fights on there. Georgia have been pulling that move for long enough now. Needs to be stamped out.

i don't think frenkel will take the world by storm. i think cleverly has a better future in his own division, after stopping a legit contender in a great elim fight. but aftre all these CLEVER puns we've been hearing all night, the welshman is not a smart/mature fighter yet, nowhere near, and would get his head knocked off by a cruiserweight puncher up at cruiserweight.

frenkel will be a good wild card for the cruiserweight super 6. surely sauerland will put him in after those 2 savage knockdowns.

I know what you mean, but at the same time, Enzo made the count. I think it's another validation of early stoppages not being quite as bad as they seem sometimes. He did take a massive shot, but he was ahead, it's that intangible decision that pleases noone, either stop it early with the possibility of redemption going up in flames or let it carry on to it's potentially horrific conclusion.

i think after the big name opponent pulled out, it's best to save macklin for another night, and let him have an impressive KO tonight rather than someone he won't have had time to research who can make him look bad.

promoter obviously still wanted it to be a title fight and that was the prority.

Good point. Cue the KO

I'll get my excuse in early......at no point did I say he couldn't punch

The rest of it I stand by though - it's taking record padding to a dangerous extreme.

I won money backing Frenkel but seeing Enzo knocked out like that was truly sickening. The referee was an absolute disgrace there. Maccarinelli was clearly on wobbly legs and should have been stopped after the first knock down.

As for Enzo's career, this has to be the end now. That punch would have knocked out most people but I do think that his punch resistance has gone.

You shouldn't dismiss all eastern Europeans because of the actions of a few of them.
