Enzo maccarinelli
Enzo maccarinelli
Jesus. I hope he's alright. In my opinion, the ref should never have let him out again after the knockdown, he was still out.
I've always liked Enzo, but it could be too many big knockouts for him. Might be time to call it a day?

It's over for Enzo, it has been for a while - it's only that he clung on to his power that enabled him to drag his career out.

Someone better send an ambulance to Flint Island's bungalow just in case he's offed himself.

The knockout was brutal but not half as bad as some of the violence in the crowd straight after the fight. If the security guard who got thrown over thw balcony isn't dead I'll b

Def should've been stopped. It was like the Khan - Prescott stoppage when the ref lets the house fighter go on, even though he's in no state to continue.DaveSilva wrote:Jesus. I hope he's alright. In my opinion, the ref should never have let him out again after the knockdown, he was still out.

Only saw it the once and thought he had his wits about him. Must have been wrong. You won't see many more savage ko's than that.reggaereggae wrote:Def should've been stopped. Re: Enzo maccarinelli
There are rumours (hope they are not true) on another forum that Enzo passed out in the dressing room. How to god has the gone to a forum I don't know, but I just hope its not true.
Re: Enzo maccarinelli
Sadly I could see that knock out coming well in advance of the fight. I thought Maccarinelli was finished after the Lebedev fight. His recent wins just papered over significant cracks and unfortunately his punch resistence has gone. Great servant to British boxing thoough and provided some cracking fights.
Re: Enzo maccarinelli
I thought he was clearly on very wobbly legs and letting him continue there was an absolute disgrace. He had a similar look there to that which he had in the David Haye fight which was thankfully stopped.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Only saw it the once and thought he had his wits about him. Yep agreed he had the exact same look as the Haye stoppage, legs like bambi.SteveDow wrote:I thought he was clearly on very wobbly legs and letting him continue there was an absolute disgrace. Re: Enzo maccarinelli
I agree, considering there were one or two complaints (I didn't agree with the complaints) that the Haye vs Maccarinelli fight was stopped too soon. I thought Enzo was in better shape in this one. But the replay was alarming, he looked quite glazed.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Only saw it the once and thought he had his wits about him. Must have been wrong. I don't think the ref should be criticised beyond belief though, there would have been complaints had he waved it off.
Hope Enzo is okay.
Re: Enzo maccarinelli
A lot of people on here criticise British refs for stepping in too early but, as anyone with any sense says, better too early than a second too late.
I just felt so sad for him - he was doing really well. Hope he's OK too - lovely chap is Enzo. Very approachable, chatty guy.

Re: Enzo maccarinelli
Enzo himself would certainly have been in no fit state to complain if it had been waved off after the first knockdown. It really should have been stopped.
Re: Enzo maccarinelli
Couldn't agree more. The one time I met Enzo was at the Calzaghe v Manfredo bill where he fought Bobby Gunn and he was so willing to chat with everyone. Great guy.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:A lot of people on here criticise British refs for stepping in too early but, as anyone with any sense says, better too early than a second too late.

I also met him at the MEN arena top fella, brave as they come and i hope he packs it in now before he gets badly hurt
Re: Enzo maccarinelli
I think he can only compete at domestic level now and I'd hope pride and common sense would make him quit.

Re: Enzo maccarinelli
What are the rumours? It was a very heavy knock out and he took some huge shots unprotected because of that idiot of a referee.Deno1986 wrote:I seen the same rumours and worse on the chat function on my stream, hopefully it's all bullsh1t.stujones wrote:There are rumours (hope they are not true) on another forum that Enzo passed out in the dressing room. Re: Enzo maccarinelli
aye even from our seat we could see he was done and the ref was right there. was disgusting.
Sexton stoppage was possibly a little late too, he was already done.
