Picking up free agent fighters

Post by armageto »

In future seasons (If there are any), I think we have to set some foundation on how a dropped fighter can be added when somebody quits or is tossed out, etc. Perhaps to pick up a first, you have to drop a first? Maybe reverse draft order gets first claim? Every fantast sport has some type of waiver wire and Boxrecsim should have one as well, IMO.

I claimed Walker, but agree with your statement.

Were you ok with the tourney for Gavilan? I happen to have won, and I had my first round in the mix to win him. Seemed reasonable to me. Everyone had a shot. Walker then just became another pool opponent, which though he is a gem of a fighter, seemed ok since he just got returned to the pool. Or perhaps such a fighter could just be retired in order to save the commish time? I'm sure it's a bit of an annoyance based on the time it takes to run the tournament.

The Ross situation is unclear to me, and I suspect scandal and corruption.

A simple lottery might make quicker work of it. And have a sense of equal opportunity.

I would also think the top five fighters should not be draftable material. As a result Geto keeps swattin all our Royal Cards down with his Lone Ace. Of course he also avoids our stable because he sees Lady Luck has taken up permanent residence in the GoldenBuzz MegaPlex.

The tourney for Gavilan was perfect in such cases.

I guess Walker was just an average fighter when put back in the pool, and only great management from PSP has transformed him into a real fighter.

Walker is an excellent fighter. I was just wanted a quick flyswatter similar to Rosenbloom. Just a preference is all. Pretty even swap.

Ross is the question....what happened in that case?

Something should have been held for Ross. There was much debate when he came on the market first (when Sav initially said he was leaving), and we were thinking about a tournament then.

Thing is, The End swooped and no one kicked up that much of a fuss until now.

It makes no difference to me. The 1st/2nd round pick thing is a little pointless considering some 2nd round picks are actually rated higher than some 1st rounders. Maybe the fighter being swapped has to be within 1-2 points of the fighter being picked up?

I think the Ross acquisition was simply an assumption on The End's part. It should be canceled, and The End should be fined heavily for spreading rumors.

Has Ross had a fight under The End's management to date? If not perhaps he needs to just be a pool fighter.
