Have it on good authority that the Naz fella is currently in custody now for bailing from the scene of an accident.

PRINCE NASEEM ARRESTED AFTER CAR CRASH

Former boxing world champion Prince Naseem Hamed was today arrested after a
man was seriously injured in a crash with the star's sports car.

The flamboyant fighter was tonight being questioned with two other men on
suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury and
allegations that they attempted to pervert the course of justice.

The 31-year-old was arrested after his high-powered Mercedes car was involved
in a collision with a Volkswagen Golf and a Ford Mondeo in Ringinglow Road,
Sheffield, earlier today.

The Golf driver was trapped in the car and had to be airlifted to the Northern
General Hospital, with a suspected broken leg and fractures to both arms. A
female passenger in the car also sustained cuts and bruises in the smash.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ``As a result of a road collision,
three men have been arrested and taken into custody.

``A 31-year-old and two 26-year-olds are helping us with our inquiries. They
have been arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving
injury and also on allegations of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

``The accident involved a Mercedes and a Ford Mondeo travelling away from the
city and a Volkswagen Golf travelling into the city.

``The Volkswagen had a male and female in the car. The male suffered breaks to
both his arms and a broken leg, while the woman sustained cuts and bruises.

``Ringinglow Road remains closed while the cars are removed from the road.''

The crash, which the spokesman described as ``complicated``, happened at
around 2.30pm this afternoon.

He said one of the 26-year-old men under arrest had been taken to hospital,
after suffering from chest pains.

knockout breaking world news...

This is the first Naz thread of any interest for ages. Pity about its nature, though. It's a tough situation to be in - one you'd need to probably be in yourself to understand fully - but I still don't like the thought of someone fleeing an accident.

And that CNN article misses out on mentioning the WBC belt he won in his wrestling match with Soto.

Waiting for the tabloid pics of fat Naz... is he still way overweight? Warren should maybe try and get him to make an appearance at Khan - Kindelan: add some cogs to that publicity machine.

I would have thought the only reason you would leg it after an acccident is if you were pissed, I can't think of another good reason.

Still, they caught Naz easy enough, maybe because he's so fat now he could only run 20 yards before he got knackered and the old bill caught up with him!

If, and it's a big IF, it was Naz behind the wheel and he was racing the wrong way down the road in his Mercedes-McClaren, and IF he ran from the scene, then he's a bell-end. I cannot fornicating stand people who drive like maniacs on public roads. If you can afford a McClaren, you can afford to go and hire a private road.

However, it's unclear exactly what happened yet.

"A man who rushed out of his house after hearing the accident said: "I heard a car going up the road at a tremendous rate.
"There was a bang and then another even bigger one a split second later. The road is in a right state.
"There were two cars completely smashed together.
"As I ran towards the scene, two Asian lads came running past me and I shouted, 'You ought to wait'.
"One of them heard me and turned as he shouted back, 'We are going to phone'."

Well at least he's running again.

Something to ponder. I know very little about cars but isn't it a two-seater? The cops arrested, I believe, two 26-year-old men and a 31-year-old.

By my logic, it's likely that he's lent the car to someone who has been showing off with a mate, piled it up and they have ran off. They were later picked up by police say the local paper.

Then Naz is likely to have been pulled as the car's owner. Just a thought.
