Emile Griffiths street attack.

It's common knowledge that a few years ago former Multi-weight Champion and Hall Of Famer Emile Griffith was brutalily attcked outside a club one night.

The initial story I heard was that he was taking the club takings to the bank and was assaulted by about 5 men with baseball bats. But I later heard that it was just one attacker and that Griffith had said 5 as he was embarressed anout being beaten up on the street.

Was anyone ever convicted for this attack?

Wasn`t there a thread quite recently which said the attack was something to do with him coming out of a gay bar?

Yes I heard it was a gay bar, I just wanted to know if anyone was ever charged with the assault?

Didn't Emile get angry with Paret before their fatal fight because Benny questioned his sexuality?

Yes thats my understanding of it, I think it may have been the weight in or pre-fight press conference when Perat was alleged to have made some Hispanic comment along the lines of 'faggot'.

It was shown in the USA about a month ago, I hope we get to see it in the UK. Apparently it's very very good.
