I am a Volunteer Mentor for a local charity here in Suffolk called BeMMaD (Befriending, Mentoring and Making a Difference) where I go into local schools and mentor kids between the ages of 13-19 years old and I am due to start work at some point as a Support Worker for Mencap once I get my Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check sorted out and Mencap have still got it as far as I know before passing it onto the CRB.

It is actually when you look at it Lefty mate. With the Mentoring it was something that I had looked at for a while but I talked myself out, but then I decided to take the plunge with it as we only live once as I was on the dole. I had mentors when I was at University and when I was school I use help younger students with their reading so I had plenty of experience to draw on that front which I am using and the two lads I am mentoring at the moment at a High School in Ipswich are feeling positive and upbeat. With Mencap I feel that I will get far more fufilment even though it was something that I actually stumbled across by pure accident by seeing an advert in the Jobs Section of the East Anglian Daily Times newspaper which is one of the local newspapers here in Suffolk, so I put an application and personal statement online explaining what would make me suitable for it, I then got an invitation for the the interview.

When I had the interview my stomach was like a washing machin on a full wash cycle before I went but I had a evru god interview and I got the position subject to my CRB check which I have to resubmit as my signature went over the box!! how the pathetic is that.

Commercial Director for a PR & Event Managment company. Prior to that was in newspaper and magazine publishing for 15 years ranging from junior reporter on a regional paper through to Group Publisher of a magazine company.

What does that entail exactly?Being a commercial director i mean.

It's a bit of a 'catch-all' title to be honest Lefty. I was recruited as the two sisters who own it have done a brilliant job building it up from scratch in just under six years - it's literally gone from them in a bedroom to 32 people working with great brands like BMW, Vertu, Hilton hotels, Mont Blanc, Chanel and HSBC.
However, that growth has been 'organic' and they know that to take the company forward they now need a more strategic approach, hence approaching me. So in the four months I've been on board I've been working on everything from a rebrand and developing a full marketing plan through to implementing a financial reporting structure and developing a structured approach to new business development. I've also set up a new digital PR division and recruited someone to head that up who's flying out from London on Saturday to join us.
Ultimately I'm measured by the bottom line - they've brought me on board to grow the business through securing business wins in the short-term and putting in place proper processes and structures to ensure it's run more efficiently in the medium- to long-term.
God, just read that back and realise how boring and 'corporate' I sound - the reality is that it's really enjoyable, largely because I'm fortunate enough to work with a great bunch of people and for business owners I both respect and trust. I'm sure I vouch for most people on here when I say things like that can make all the difference regardless of the sector you work in.

presently I'm on a government sponsored scheme. They sponsor me to sit here writing this for about 65 pounds a week.

I'm looking for a job overseas teaching English having just done work of this nature over the Summer teaching European kids in Britain.

I have literally no idea where I could end up but I'm not massively concerned by that I'll just be glad to be grafting again.

NB: I've been told recently I have a good mic' voice. And I've always believed I look well in a shirt or suit. I secretly harbour the ambition to become Britain's answer to Michael Buffer in the future (although I prefer Lennon Junior myself).

How well do you have to be able to speak other languages to be teaching kids english then?

Architectural technician. It's like an architect, but for people that slept through school and uni, and then spend the rest of their careers watching architects with half their talent make twice their money.

In chorological order..... dishwasher - t.v repairman - barman - baker - chef - hotel manager - self employed (owned a kiss-o-gram company (half naked girls in my car most days!) - fork lift driver - support worker(mental health) - sports development in a special school - university (at 30 y.o.) - 1 year off after car crash - sex education teacher - car salesman.

new job title is assistant technical officer, i did a degree in forensics but that covered pharmacuticals, pathology, chemistry etc its done in the pharmacy department of the hospital
