Why thank you! I don't consider myself among the MOST knowledgeable on the forum (I can more than hold my own so not ctriticising myself, just that there are some veritable walking encyclopedias on here) but I do like to think I "speak sense", as you put it, or in other words maintain balance/perspective.Happy Slapper wrote:Oliver Fennell speaks the most sense. Too many people let their allegiances/nationalities etc get in the way of objectivity, and also a lot of people find it difficult to separate a boxer's personality from his in-ring abilities/achievements. Personally, I couldn't care less what, for example, Floyd Mayweather's like as a person, because I have never met him, nor am I likely to, so I'm capable of talking about his boxing career "with sense".
Also, like everybody, I do have my favourites, but I remain capable of discussing them and making predictions etc without letting my fan's heart rule my head. For example, I'll be rooting for Audley big time on Nov 13, but I'm quite happy to agree with the voices that say he hasn't earned the shot, and that he likely won't win.
