i hope he retires a string of defeats wat the end of his career will make him look a bad fighter when people look back in 20 or so years.
i always enjoyed witters fights and i'd love to meet the guy
Where Junior Witter Gone ?
Re: Where Junior Witter Gone ?
I dunno about the last sentence, he hurt N'Dou plenty of times when Lovemore was thought to have one of the best chins around. Sure his power did seem to lessen quite drastically as the rounds went on but early on he had very good power imo. I seem to remember him hurting Corley in the second round before they started posing at each other??stujones wrote:I think the time has passed him by. Witter has looked a faded force for sometime - I think his peak was before he won the title. When he steps up his power isn't all that. Remember Vivian Harris has been stopped on countless occasions.

Witter has very strong legs, he was clearly draining down a bit to get to 140 in the later years.Josh1111 wrote: Witter aint all that and i've seen the guy in person, he's tiny. He'd get crushed at Welter in my eyes, maybe even by Matthew Hatton
he'd absolutely merc matt hatton. bang him out SOOOOO harshly.

We will see if it ever happens. I'm not saying Matthew Hatton is awesome, but he's improved a hell of a lot and Witter is now 36, not fought in over a year, I personally think Hatton would beat himCounter-puncher wrote:Witter has very strong legs, he was clearly draining down a bit to get to 140 in the later years.Josh1111 wrote: Witter aint all that and i've seen the guy in person, he's tiny. Whoever he faces next, there is a long line in front of Hatton.

Agreed. It's a shame he had to wait so long to get his shot at the title. By the time he got it, he was past his prime. I beleive he did have genuine power though: I mean he did floor and hurt Lovemore Ndou. Something big punchers Cintron and Cotto failed to do. I just feel as he got older his speed, timing and reflexes were on the wane. With a style like his, once you lose those attributes, you're in trouble as you don't have sound fundamentals to fall back on.stujones wrote:I think the time has passed him by.
