May I just say how sorry I was to hear about the enforced retirement of Colne's Stuart McFadyen.
At the very least 'Stui' was without doubt a future British Champion and perhaps his career deserved better than his 12-1-1 (1) record. Always a crowd pleaser with a tenacious, ring-prowling style he will remain one of the sport's unsung heroes. A tremendous trainer and athlete, I hope he will stay within boxing and pass on his considerable knowledge to the next generation of fighters.
I have been privileged to have worked with Stui in the past and always found him polite, engaging and tremendous company. Although he will be sadly missed by the North West's boxing fraternity his retirement will give him the perfect opportunity to work on his golf swing!
Good luck Stui.

I'm no medic but believe it was/is something to do with one of his eyelids. Hope somebody will be in a position to clarify.

Re: Stuart 'Stui' McFadyen
Droopy eye lid, surely not a retirement- corrective surgery would be an easy fix I presume, good little fighter.

Surgery failed, retirement announced in today's BNews.
