Former WBC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jeff Harding was born today in 1965. He was one tough, rough fighter, who of course had three epic encounters with our own Light-Heavyweight Champion Dennis Andries.

It has been well documented in the media that over the last few years Jeff Harding has been struggling with a bad drink problem and I was wondering does anyone know if he is on the road to recovery?

I echo those sentiments. Harding was a tough fighter who did very well with the skills that he had. Johnny Lewis his trainer seemed to have the ability to get the best out of him as he does with most of the fighters he trains

Haven't heard or read anything about Jeff's after boxing struggles as the media here tends to ignore these things. Real shame

I heard a few years back he had a drinking and substance abuse problem, He was on TV a few months back saying he was trying to get clean but i havn't heard much since.

He was ringside at a fight card I went to in Sydney at the back of end of 2003. He was called into centre ring, and well, he was struggling to string the words together unfortunately. They showed the highlights of the first Andries fight and the ring announcer said something like "it hasn't been easy for you since you quit boxing" and Jeff replies "that's the understatement of the year"...it was sad.
