Just shows how threadbare the HW division is thse days, when the champions are calling out challengers, rather than the other way round.

Wlad obviously wants an early Christmas present. He'd love to get the very green Chisora at this early stage, it's money in the bank. No wonder HBO aren't interested in any of his defences.

It must be tempting for Chisora, a nice payday ( you'd hope ) and the glamour of going for the biggest prize in sport, but Frank would be wrong to chuck him in there now - he's fought no one, and Wlad would eat him alive.
Not even a puncher's chance, as Wlad's chin aint THAT bad. The huge punching Corrie Sanders would have knocked near anyone out with those shots he landed.

The trouble with taking on Wlad, is he likes to administer a slow and steady beating for 10 rounds or so, before delivering the KO. So it wouldn't be short and sweet, and would likely result in a terrible beating followed by a brutal knockout.

Del Boy should cash in on his title a bit, get the rounds in, then give one of the champs a crack when he's given himself the best chance with a bit more experience. There's a massive shortage of credible challengers, so they'll be happy to accomodate in a year or so.

He's not ready now but he'll never be ready - so take it.

The kid doesn't even stand a punchers chance in my eyes.

Take the money now, the 0 isn't important.

It would be insanity . Chisora is well promoted and with the British and Commonwealth titles and a SKY contract in a good position.

He is still learning and before Saturday hadnt been past 8 rounds.

Despite his reputation as a boring fighter, none of Wladimir's foes get an easy way out. Its always a long slow prolonged beatdown over 10 rounds. Almost sadistic. He finds a way to score a spectacular stoppage once his foe is totally finished usually in the late rounds.

Chisora's career will be over before it has even started if he takes it now. He should have at least 4 more fights than go for it in 12 months time

No reason not to take it.

Don't think he will win or even come close but it's worth it for the money and press he will receive. I don't think it will happen though. The Klits like to fight in Germany in stadiums not in a relatively small venue in England.

It's all about money surely, and not just the payment for the fight itself. In my opinion even if he loses fairly quickly, he's increased his profile and subsequent earning potential significantly. I can't see how he wouldn't go for it, assuming a reasonable offer (and reasonable for Chisora is obviously not the same amount that would be reasonable for Haye).

And I really don't see how losing to the best in the world at 26 years of age means his career is over. That's insanity.

He could come out of this wiser. I don't think with Del Boys personality he is likely to be damaged for life. He will know what it is all about.

I can't see past a slow and steady beating for Chisora. Why take a couple of hundred grand when it could ruin you as a fighter? Del is still young and a beating from a guy like Wlad may end his earning potential. I'd say get more seasoning and clear up domestically and then European and then go fot it.

True, and his stock has never been higher.

Isn't this what boxing should be all about? Taking on the best.....Wlad is seen as the best HW in the world so he should give it a go if given the opportunity. It might never happen again...

Amazing that beating - and looking good, in fairness - against a knackered Sam Sexton gets you a world title shot, but hey ho, that's heavyweight boxing....

If he should put up a spirited display his stock would go up 5 fold.

Even with the options that the Klits build into there fights Frank should be able to twist a bit more out in Chisora's favour.

Can't see how its even a possible no thanks really, he is building towards a world title, take the shot now and the cash, in five years the Klits will be gone for good and Chisora will be in his peak years.

Kick on Del
I dont see how frank would be able to twist abit more out in chisora's favour in the options department.Chisora has no power over negotiations in this fight as its him being offered a shot that he doesnt really deserve! The kltschko's are very savvy!

Yeah but is it really worth the press he will receive?!I mean most of it will probably end uo being focussed on the savage beating he'll most probably get!

ppl can get excited about chisora vs this, that and the other opponent in future fights. following a good win, it is nice to speculate and weihg up the possibilities. but these fighters usually end up fighting someone totally different, in line with their/their promoter's career plan, not what we want.

if del boy fights someone not on your lists, you'll probably still watch him fight.

honestly what are his chances of beating wlad? even supposing he can get near him, you know he'll get tangled up, hugged, leaned on and then when steward's been begging for a few rounds, finished off.

I think everyone who is saying Derek should take a sickening beating for the sake of his bank balance should consider that he could be ruined by this fight like Lacy seemed to be against Calzaghe.
Not necessarily physically but i'm not sure if a young ambitious fighter can switch into journeyman mode for one fight (i know going to lose but i'll be paid well) then bounce back to his former self afterwards.

Angulo got a lot of criticism for turning down a shot at Martinez for the Middleweight title but i think it was his ambition and pride which stopped him from volunteering for a onesided humiliating beatdown.

Chisora wants the fight and is meeting Warren tonight to make a final decision on the matter so looks like its going to happen now unless warren can convince him otherwise.

Its a major jump but a defeat wouldn't harm his career too much, at least this way he can see how far he is away from being the best in the world and go back to put the work in.

Of cause if he wins then he'll have a rematch clause to fufill

Mmm.

Chisora isn't ready, but is he as ready as he'll ever be? He's improving, but will he ever improve enough to beat Wlad?

On balance, I think he should probably take it. The Klitschko money-go-round won't last forever. May as well cash in while the opportunity is there. It may be the only chance he will ever get to earn half a mill or so in one fight. Outside a world title challenge, that kind of purse just doesn't exist in heavyweight boxing. It's not as though he's built a reputation to lose, so there's no worries there. He isn't yet known by the public at large. But he would be if he takes the fight and, if he does well (even if he loses), he will become a household name in Britain.

Yep, he should take it. All to gain, only an unbeaten record to lose.

Have you seen the kind of extended slow and steady beatdowns Klitchko hands out before the concussive knockout. I've been in the ring and around it, and beleive me those are the kind of beatings that end careers early.Fine if a guy wants to blow your career before its really started.

Klitchko isnt going to pay out £500,000 anyway. Plus these guys or at least one of them will be retired in a couple of years there will definetly be belts up for grabs or a fight with one of them available than. Or if Haye beats one of them he would probably like another London defence.

Got to be worth the risk though. Surely he's in the business to be world champion.

I do find this story a tadge hard to believe. Its certainly raising Chisora's profile, which might have been the main aspect.

He brings something different to the game, and maybe he's like a few before him that they have to find the right level for the public to like them.

He's won me over.
