Why isn't John Murray higher profile?

Following on from the other thread about Murray being forgotten i think its fair to pose the question....Why doesn't Murray get more attention in general amongst the fans and within the sport?

He's a Manc and Manchester has a good fight following. He has an entertaining style and is a quality operator. He also gives good honest interviews, and seems a nice enough fella. So why isn't he catching the attention the way he should be?

Is his problem simply a promotional one?

If he was with Warren or Hatton he'd be a lot bigger than he is by now. So yes, it is a promotional problem, doesn't fight enough, doesn't get enough good press and hasn't as yet had the meaningful and publicity generating fights that he could have had with a better/more powerful promoter.

I think on the whole "Meaty" Mick Hennessy is a very good promoter indeed.

However - with that said - the longer John Murray's career goes on the longer I think Mick could have done so much more for him with regards to Murray's profile with the general public.

I think on the whole "Meaty" Mick Hennessy is a very good promoter indeed.

However - with that said - the longer John Murray's career goes on the longer I think Mick could have done so much more for him with regards to Murray's profile with the general public.

not saying he's unpopular, just from the footage i've seen of hennessy shows, when you look in the front rows, you see interesting stuff

Ive always thought it odd Murray employed Mick Marsden as manager when he was already at title level.It indicates Gallagher and Hennessey needed a go between.

You are completely correct in my opinion.

With Team Hennessy if you are in then you are well looked after - if you are a perceived outsider then its survival of the fittest - purely an opinion of course!!!

hatton has a piece of some good manchester action right now - next week's bill, for instance, featuring foster jr, morris and crolla. probably martin murray as well and some others i might have forgotten. and of course he has TV dates on sky sports.

but after his scandal, and with him in rehab, do ppl really want to sign with him?

murray's been on hennessy shows since when, 2006? that's a long time and with that time frame you'd think he must have re-signed with mick before. how many more fights does he have left, and will he go back with hennessy?
