Who wins this awesome fantasy fight? I personally go with Hagler.

If Hagler couldn't beat a ring rusty Leonard, what hope would he have against the master.

Everyone has that one opponent they couldn't beat and for hagler it was Leonard. but that has nothing to do with him agasint Robinson. if Lamotta or basillio could do it why not Hagler? and Hagler shud of won that fight against Leonard anyway.

I like Hagler to win this one by a SD.

I think he would win by knockout. it would b a close fight either way it goes down but unlike Leonard, Robinson would not be afraid to stand and fight i think it would ultimately lead to his demise.

Well if the purpose of this is to determine the best MW of all time, I think it boils down to Robinson, Hagler and Monzon. And I think Monzon would have a better record against these two names than they would have against him. Making him in my opinion the man to beat for MW honors.

I used to rank Monzon number-one all-time.

Greb owns that spot today.

1. Robinson
2. Ketchel
3. Greb
4. Hagler
5. Monzon

One thing is for sure. The BoxRec ratings are not worth the web space they are posted on.

Ketchel is #40

How could you justify Ketchel ranked at number 2 at middleweight? Based on what?
Greb, Hagler, Monzon, and Robinson have much better records at that weight class. Is your ranking based on head to head?
And even head to head I could not agree with that. Ketchel above Greb? I don't think so.

I justify it by the footage I have seen, everything I've read and the opinions of some of boxings most Knowledgeable scolars.

Ketchel managed to floor one the greatest heavyweights ever, as well as being one of the most agressive fighters in the history of the sport.

Plenty of historians and long-time fight fans and aficionados rate the likes of Ketchel and Greb way above Hagler and Monzon.

Even Ring magazine rate them above the pair:

http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Divis ... f_All-Time

There was also a good web page that polled a lot of these experts at all the weights and Ketchel was way above Hagler and Monzon. The link's dead now, unfortunately but they were respected guys.

I think boxing is a bit like music. You see a poll of the all time top 50 acts of all time and there are a lot more recent acts on the list and some of the classic bands seem to get forgotten about.

I pick Hagler over Robinson. This is a fight of two complete fighters.

Beating Tunney is worth a hell of a lot more than flooring Johnson.

Greb lost 3 of 4 fights against Tunney. Also these fights were at Light Heavy.

Ketchel was in the ring with 6' 1" 205lb Reigning Heavyweight Champion of The World and he was outweighed by 35lb.

Whom he sucker-punched in a staged fight, winning exactly three seconds of said-bout.

Beating Tunney is a hundred times more impressive.

Come on guys. You can easily put Ketchel in your top 10.

The wins over Papke, O’Brien (who was a regular top 10 at 175 for decades), Twin Sullivan, Kelly and Klaus… That’s enough to put him in there. Great KO record too.

Robinson probably out-foxes Hagler in a fight but Hagler was more consistent at Middleweight.

It's a definite 15 round decision.

"Staged fight" There are many rumours about the fight. Consensus is that they agreed to go 10 rounds, then get stuck in. Ketchel floored him fair and square.
