Johnny Greaves
Johnny greaves provided an entertaining bout with some of what I call Hilarious show boating and even got a win! He boxed Floyd mayweather Moore Making his debut over 4x3's. Johnny is villain in the ring and one of the nicest guys out of it well done Johnny.
Re: Johnny Greaves
agreed, one of nicest guys in boxing and far far better than his record suggests\!
Re: Johnny Greaves
Phillip I was at the Southampton show last night, Johhny was disgusted he got the win
He even went to the ref telling him he wanted to lose
I like Johnny a hell of a lot but he could have easily stopped that lad last night but stopped hitting him.

Because he was there to lose to the youngster (and really tried hard to)tsmithy50 wrote:Why was he disgusted he got the win?taffytoon wrote:Phillip I was at the Southampton show last night, Johhny was disgusted he got the winHe even went to the ref telling him he wanted to lose

Re: Johnny Greaves
I was at the boxing on yesterday and enjoyed the night even with the main event barney vs morby being cancelled and the promising shane watson also not fighting. Greaves did look far better than his record suggests but seems to be more interested in playing around then actually boxing. Seems to be some half decent prospects in the area and also a decent crowd

Re: Johnny Greaves
I was in johnnys corner last night & I can defo say that he was pleased with the win!
Re: Johnny Greaves
Probably on of the few pros (other than the big shots) who comes close to making a reasonable living out of boxing.
Re: Johnny Greaves
Then why did he go up to the ref complaining? He said he was supposed to be doing the kid a favour. Also why did he stop hitting the kid in round 2 when he had him going? Same in round 3 and 4.frankgreaves wrote:I was in johnnys corner last night & I can defo say that he was pleased with the win!

Re: Johnny Greaves
he's a nice lad, what can I say? he's one of the best journeymen around & doesn't deserve any criticism at all. what them boys do is incredibly hard going up & down the country week in week out, often on their own, often on the end of some harsh decisions, rarely if ever getting stopped, most have day jobs & are fighting boys that are full time pro's, they don't earn bundles, get plenty of abuse plenty & never complain! the johnny greaves's Sid razaks Daniel thorpes kristian laights of this world are an absolutecredit to this sport & don't let anyone ever say any different. how many so called prospects fight each other? not many that's how many!! johnny has fought ex world champs, British champs, top contenders, many many top amatures, outside his weight class, he's had one yes one genuine stoppage in nearly 60 fights! some fighters have got a heart, if I'd criticise johnny for anything it'd be for having too much heart & maybe he showed a bit of it the other night to his opponent!

dIdn't Johnny get an award for best supporting boxer at the southern area awards? That tells you everything you need to know about him credit to the sport.

I'd say that Coombs, Atkins and Fernandas boxed the best with Matty Tew's fight being most entertaining for the short time it lasted. I seem to remember 1 more fight at middleweight, someone called Kid Lewis or something, he won quite convincingly but I felt he will have to throw more combo's if he want's to win more.archiebald wrote:jon fernandas won pts

Woah Frank "I think Johnny is great and have UTMOST respect for him" All I am saying is that he was MILES above that young lad on Saturday and could have easily stopped him. I even had a laugh and joke with him before the fight about his Eelsfrankgreaves wrote:he's a nice lad, what can I say? he's one of the best journeymen around & doesn't deserve any criticism at all. what them boys do is incredibly hard going up & down the country week in week out, often on their own, often on the end of some harsh decisions, rarely if ever getting stopped, most have day jobs & are fighting boys that are full time pro's, they don't earn bundles, get plenty of abuse plenty & never complain! the johnny greaves's Sid razaks Daniel thorpes kristian laights of this world are an absolutecredit to this sport & don't let anyone ever say any different. how many so called prospects fight each other? not many that's how many!! johnny has fought ex world champs, British champs, top contenders, many many top amatures, outside his weight class, he's had one yes one genuine stoppage in nearly 60 fights! some fighters have got a heart, if I'd criticise johnny for anything it'd be for having too much heart & maybe he showed a bit of it the other night to his opponent!
