I'm sure everyone has seen this by now but it still makes good reading.

Harrison returns on June 9

Audley ‘A-Force’ Harrison will finally make his return to the ring on June 9 against journeyman Billy Zumbrun who recently lost a close decision to former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe. The bout will be nationally televised live on the FSN’s Best Damn Sports Show Period (BDSSP.) “The wait is over for me and my fans,” said Harrison. “On June 9 people will realise I am ready to begin the next phase of my career that will end up with the heavyweight championship of the world.”

Harrison suffered an injury to his left hand (a ligament tear to his index finger) last autumn that ruled him out of action for the remainder of 2004 and early 2005.

“I feel in great shape, my fitness is excellent and my hand has fully healed,” said Harrison.

“I have always said 2005 would be the year I go for it and coming back on national television in the United States is a testament to the seriousness of what I plan to do.”

Yes, he always said 2005 would be the year to go for it so having his first fight of the year in June really backs that one up!

Make it 2006. Article from BBC:

Harrison, 33, fights Billy Zumbrun in California on 9 June and then hopes to fight Samuel Peter or Calvin Brock before facing a world title fight.

"The winner of me and Peter and maybe Brock will be ready to go on in 2006 and fight anyone," said Harrison.

"I turned professional to be champion and that's still what I want."

Good luck to Audley,

but dont jump against Samuel Peters too soon. Audley still has to work out the rust before taking on a big puncher. He cant afford a loss at this point.

Why not take on Tyson? Still got a name, can bring big money and a win against him will position Audley for a title fight. Look no further than Williams.

Or try to display your skills against fat, out of shape, rusty David Tua. IF he could put a boxing clinic on him the way Lewis did that would put him also in position for a title challenge. (not saying Audley is as good a boxer as Lennox was, but neither is Tuaman as good as he was then)

Those names are implausible since it would be them calling the shots, not audley.

You're probably right Riddick. Although a good idea to get a name, he'd need to find a promoter/TV station to stump up a whole load of cash to even get a Tua, Tyson or Bowe. Their almost in the same position as Audley. Think they can still get a title shot, need fights, and don't want to risk anything.

BTW, and I'm not really thinking of potential opponents here, anyone know what's happening with Sanders and Kirk Johnson. Did I not read maybe a few weeks ago that Sanders was planning some sort of comback?

I think fighting a contender with alot of hype surrounding them would do wonders for audley if he wins, but will he take this route?

Wouldn't it be funny if after all that wrangling with allegedly, he ends up signing with King?

I think perhaps allegedly taught him a valuable lesson. Hopefully Audley ain't going to waste any more time on insisting that he handles every promotion himself.

At the stage he is at its definitely time to pack in the Lone Ranger approach and get on the fast track by fighting on Don King promotions and getting a quicker shot at a title against an easier fighter to beat down the line i.e Brewster/Golota/Byrd

Could be the only move for him! He's a flea in the wilderness out there, but with King's promotional clout he can do anything, he's obviously easily marketable.

That's the only thing we know about Audley, that he can talk the talk! He's shuffled the shuffle, and inched the inch, and he hasn't fallen yet, but he needs to walk the walk before he can jog the run.
