Who was the harder puncher from these 4?
-Mike Tyson
-Liston
-Foreman
-Marciano
?
PS I did not put them in the order I think I just listed them but you can put them in the order from the hardest puncher to the "lesser".

TYSON ,BUT OUT OF THE 4 TYSON JUICED THE OTHER 3 DIDNT
Re: Who was the harder puncher from these 4?
Ditto, but with Tyson left hook being arguably the most lethal punch of the bunch (the you don't see it coming accounts for a lot) and Foreman hitting harder and being stronger overall.gizmo1 wrote:That's how I see it too.dajuggernaut wrote:Foreman

I would also add one of the "Vlademire" (sp) brothers, or both from the Ukraine they are monsters. But, like I said, I'd add not top the list.

There could be a case for switching the bottom two or switching Tyson and Liston. I'd say that Tyson definately hit harder than Marciano and Forman is unquestionably first. Not too sure where to put Liston.

Foreman on top, Marciano at the base, & I'm pretty confident of that.
The middle two are harder to split. I might be the odd man out here, & rank Liston ahead of Tyson. It's pretty open-ended, but Liston's knockouts were no less savage --- the difference being he didn't have Tyson's sizzling combinations, or blazing handspeed. Guys knew the shots were coming better than they did Tyson's --- but he still left men face-first on the ringmat, drolling in a puddle of unconsciousness.

I agree with your take. I give Liston a slight edge over Tyson. Mike just came out of the gate so damn fast though, it was like watching a Lion maul Antelope.Goodnight, Irene wrote:Foreman on top, Marciano at the base, & I'm pretty confident of that.

They all hit hard.
I’d probably put George on top. Though of the 4 he was the man who went looking for the one shot finish. He was also very skilful at managing to do this.
I’d put Liston at number 2. I think he hit harder than Tyson on a single shot. In a way Tyson was more devastating because he combined a faster and more accurate punch with his power. But for who hit harder I’d say Liston.
I put Marciano at number 4 simply because he was smaller. But he may well have hit harder than any of them for all I know.

Foreman was still knocking out Heavyweight Champs at the age of 45. Nuf said.
Tyson and Liston are about equal. Marciano would be 4th on my list.

I'm no expert on Foreman but not sure how many fighters he KTFO - seemed to be more a case of multiple knockdowns rather than KTFOs. Of course I'm referring mainly to Frazier, Norton and Lyle. Foreman's style never appealed to me so haven't seen too many of his fights apart from the obvious big ones.
Would choose Liston from the list, by a distance.

One of his earlier opponents (it might've been Kirkman?) said he was hit on the arm by Foreman, & when he returned to is corner realised that the arm, "just stopped working..."Knucklez wrote:I'm no expert on Foreman but not sure how many fighters he KTFO - seemed to be more a case of multiple knockdowns rather than KTFOs. Re: Who was the harder puncher from these 4?
Foreman in his early years, was very sloppy technically. But the power was there for sure. You combine the patience of the Middle aged Foreman, with the youth and strength of the Young Foreman. You have the ultimate destroying machine.
