Anybody else disapointed with next weekends prizefighter? Poor lineup for me, made worse by a couple of poor wild cards

Not the best line up then but I always considered the quality to be in the format rather than the line up.

The big 3 are the reason im watching it.....would have been nice if they had a good quality up and cummer risk it by entering in the 4th fight , like big Larry or Tom Dallas, but you can understand those guys having other ideas on how they want to proceed.Both are young pros doing well they dont need to enter something like this right now.

Got to hope for a Sprott V Skelton final or this Timlin is actually a good fighter (never heard of him, but undefeated at least in 7)

What big 3? all has been's nothing special with this tournament. Agree that i would have been nice for big Larry or maybe Tyson Fury to be in there. Poor line up for me. They should do less prizefighters but stronger line ups

I think it's stronger and more competitve than the last heavyweight prizefighter.

Skelton hasn't exactly got an easy ride in the 1st round against Ali Adams and as we know with Irish fighters and Prizefighter they always throw up suprises so the undefeated Timlin might go far especially as he's on the easy part of the draw. The McBride Egobi fight looks pretty even and I can only see Sprott having a straight forward win in the 1st round.

Don't forget 2 people including Chris Burton pulled out so don't think the quality is too bad considering. Lets face it you're not going to get a prospect like Fury or Larry in there anymore.

Sprott and Skelton are definitely big names domestically. They're certainly bigger than anyone in the first two HW installments. Admittedly we've been spoiled by the likes of Harrison, Hide, Rees etc in other tourneys, but this isn't the worst, either.

McBride, though, is surely only a "name". I can't see him doing anything here. Probably won't get past the first bracket. Never even rated him when he was young, let alone now.

I think the line is absolutely terrible. If Sprott withdrew and they struck in another dumdbell it would actually make it more competitive.

Josh, I'd suggest the fighters and their promoters (and eventually the media) care about it most as it is widely believed to be helpful in terms of marketing. The question above quite rightly asked what they had to lose, and the only thing would be that at least one of them would lose their 0. I think that's something most fighters and their promoters stringently want to avoid, of course to the detriment of the sport. My response was more of a 'nail on the head' than agreeing with the unfortunate position.

this is a good classic Prizefighter

skelton and sprott can be beaten in a tear up...you just have to go for it

most of these guys are coming out of retirement but they all have a chance.

mcbride is the slowest hw on earth

and im glad that Carl Baker is out

Have you really just asked that? I agree with you that it shouldn't hold such a significance, but that's boxing. Surely you understand how important fighters and promoters value that round little number on their records.

Its not just the 0 factor but the chance of an injury as well, the chances are far more likely when fighters are going all out war just look at what happened to hide wasnt worth the risk in the end, better off without it your not gona learn too much from the fights either. just seems like the gain factor isn't as big as big as the risk.

Maybe not "classic" but it's better than the first one, and that was one of the most entertaining.

In terms of entertainment, it should be OK. It usually is. The names aren't the biggest in the world, but so long as PF continues to entertain, it's doing its job.

And every time a new PF is announced, we have people complaining about it, yet it has never failed to sell out.
