Can I just say that this months BM is a class read. Loved finding out about the amateurs and Mugabi etc... £3.80 may seem a lot, but its absolutely brilliantly put together. Best one i've bought for a while.

Yep.... Mugabi is one of those guys who probably doesn't get the respect he deserves anymore. Those two blast outs at the hands of top fighters in McLellon and Norris really bring his credability down- shame really.

Shouldn't do. The Beast was the real deal, until Hagler ruined him. I mean, you couldn't get a tougher title challenge than Marvin Hagler, and he moved up a division to take him on.
Norris caught him with a great left hook, but I think his legs were gone even then ( rumours of very bad syphilis ).
And he looked like he was walking on his heels, on the way to the ring to get sacrificed to McClellan.

They might bring his crdibility down amongst the youngsters who werent around at the time, but when he fought Norris he was sucking lemons and eating grapes for three week, (yes three weeks) just to make 154, and his lifestyle was horrific. 18 months later he fights McClellan after zero preparation, I think I saw him fight at Latchmere Leisure Centre in Battersea the fight before?. Do you know how much he got paid to fight McClellan? £14,000.

In his prime Mugabi was one of the best 154/160 of all time. He just didnt live the life. As an amatuer he was 195-5 with about 150 KO's.

Is it a big feature on him in BM? I'll have to buy it.

And for the record, taking nothing away from either of them Thomas Hearns and Donald Curry both ducked him. That is a fact.

People talk about Mugabi taking a lot out of Hagler prior to Leonard, which he did, but Hagler took a lot out of Mugabi in return. The Beast was never quite the same, and I'm not sure it was the smartest match in the world by Mickey Duff.
Mugabi blew his $320,000 (net) in six weeks.

I think Haye is trying to work himself into a rage, as he must find it very difficult to shake off the memories he has of Audley as a big bother type figure, who helped out the young Haye a lot. Someone he really looked up to.
As weird as it sounds, I get the impression Haye is still a bit intimidated by his old fallen idol. Just a mental edge Harrison might still have, at the back of his mind.

Cover was ok, but why does millionaire Margarito still get his hair cut at Toppers ?
And let's hope the headline The Champ v The Cheat doesn't reach new levels of irony if Pac Man gets caught out too, god forbid.
Just remember, before the scandal, Margariot was seen in the same sort of light as Pac man : a poor humble boy made good, toppling legends and being avoided by Mayweather and co.

Yep that's exactly what I felt after reading that Ian, a bit sorry for Audley in this instance. To have all his previous good will thrown back in his face, then to get knocked out as well, seems too much for any man.

As to Degale's comment, I find it distasteful that he makes that remark publicly on live TV. It's puerile and hateful - red heads are slated, bullied and taken the piss out of mercilessly throughout their lives, just for their complexion and hair. I'm sure a lot of redheads really resent the stick they get / got. I have heard a theory that redheaded men grow up mentally very tough because of the stick they get. All the gingers in MMA seem to be nutters....

Anyway I don't mean to get on any high-horse, and it was by no means a personal attack on you - I know you have a good sense of humour - but I was more referring to the hypocrisy I feel that it's not OK to make remarks of a physical nature about non-white peoples, but whites are just open season (esp Gingers!)

ON a serious note I believe Ginger Tsabalala died some time ago. Can't remember how. I sometimes mistake him for Courage Tsabalala (don't know if related) who unfortunately also died 5 years or so ago.

The latter was a prospect who lost for the first time in a big upset to Brian Scott...who sadly dies recently also..
