Murray a Wanted Man !!
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
The way this is written makes it sound like he's going to jump ship to FW.
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
FW can deliver big names and bring them to the UK
he also has mitchell and arthur - looking a little the worse for wear - at lightweight and the winner of that fight could challenge murray for his EBU title. or better, murray could vacate the title, leaving those 2 to contest it, and perhaps FW could get him a title elim / world title fight.

Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
if i was Murray, the winner of a Mitchell - Arthur scrap would make very attractive risk/reward fodder.Autobarn wrote:FW can deliver big names and bring them to the UK

Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
a good stage and you never know, maybe worthy of an elim, murray vs mitchell-arthur winner. mitchell was a top 10 lightweight, and arthur was a super featherweight title holder.

Ah good news for Murray. FW could really take Murray to new heights. FW may have his critics, but he's a proven track record in delivering big fights. I always liked Hennessy - when he first started out his bills were competitive top to bottom. But once he lost his tv deal, it's been a struggle ever since. Still, I hope Hennessy Promotions can get back to their best.

It can only be Warren.Joe G,of all people, wouldnt post the link to the article if it wasnt what he wanted.Fwank can deliver Katsidis at the M.E.N and, hopefully,Murray can fill it.FW had some great nights at that venue and can do again.

Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
I'm happy to hear that Murray is just about a free agent and can now listen to bidders to see what he can get....he's been kept waiting for too long now.
I think Mick Hennessey is a genuinely decent man and thats why his fighters have stayed loyal to him for so long. But he lacks the clout to compete on the major stage, and really shot his credibility to pieces when he failed to ink his agreement with the Sauerlands over the location for Froch/Abraham. So has to be a nigh on certainty he'll lose Murray later this month.

Totally agree.robpalmer135 wrote:he would be a fool to sign with anyone but warren.
He has had more fights than is usual for a kid in his position. fWank will do him alot of good.
But why the talk of Ortiz? Absurd if he even considered that. Murray simply does not need victor ortiz.
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
it would seem now is as good a time as any for murray to be with FW.robpalmer135 wrote:he would be a fool to sign with anyone but warren.
mitchell coming off a one sided defeat in a big opportunity, khan having defected, etc.
you could see murray being sidelined in earlier times, when khan was with FW for certain.
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
Agree with the view on FW being a decent move, but I can think of one better and that might involve Victor Ortiz. GBP is where it is at in terms of this devision. They could deliver Kastidis, Marquez (just about the only money fight in the devision) and Guerrero.
Plus Khan and Ortiz.

Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
I will be very surprised if John Murray signs for Golden Boy - furthermore I will be stunned if Mr W arren bows to the pressure this article is giving to up the money John Murray will receive for future fights - W arren will make his only offer and it will be up to Murray to take it or not - personally I think he should whatever is on the table from W arren - the bloke in my corner shop completely and utterly disagrees with me and even hinted at an alternative.
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
if he does sign with warren he'll have world title fight within his 2 next fights.
Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
if he remains loyal to hennessy it wont pay off imo.
golden boy can fix big fight's, but murray aint a household name so he wont get the silly money & could box way down the bill.
build a nice base at home with some big nights, earn a few quid & cross the pond with somthing to bring to the table.

Re: Murray a Wanted Man !!
think ortiz is fighting kotelnik in december
no wonder murray didn't jump into a light welterweight fight on a smarmy golden boy show. especially when his contract with hennessy is up and top british promoters are after him.

Signing with FW will be the only way to keep him away from Rees
