Only one free Sky date left in 2010

Post by robpalmer135 »

December 18th is the only Saturday left on sky.

Oct 2nd - Kyrakosion vs Fostter Jnr - Hattons
Oct 9th - Prizefighter HW - Matchroom
Oct 16th - Webbe vs Concepcion - Maloney
Oct 23rd - Smith vs David - Warren
Oct 30th - Groves vs Toney - Hayemaker

Nov 6th - Watson vs Rees - Matchroom
Nov 13th - Haye vs Audley - Hayemaker SBO
Nov 20th - Prizefighter SFW - Matchroom
Nov 27th - Lindsay vs Simpson - Maloney

Dec 4th - Burns vs Zegan
Dec 11th - Warren Mega Card (+Chisora vs Wlad, Khan vs Maidana) - Warren SBO
Dec 18th - ONLY FREE DATE

You would have to presume the card would go to the Hattons as they will of only had one tv date this season. Main events they could put on would be;

Rhodes for European or higher
Hatton for European or higher
Rob Nortan vs Herbie Hide
Denton Vassell Commonwealth defence
Martin Murray Commonwealth defence

But this would leave several other title fights without a TV date in 2010 that promoters have won purse bids for notably Frank Maloney.

McDonnell vs Bouzaine (Maloney)
Hall vs Davies (Maloney)
Bayaar vs Edwards (Maloney)

This would also leave severall domestic champion who have severall without 2010 TV dates.

John O'Donnell (Mandatory for vacant British)
Lenny Daws (Hennesey)
Gary Skykes (Maloney)
Jason Booth (Maloney)
McAllister (Matchroom)
Edwards (Hattons)

Its likley some of the cards will end up as double bills and a few could end up on the Haye vs Audley undercard, but theres going to be allot of fighters left on the shelf this season.

I wouldn't rule out Sky showing the occasional Friday Fight Night (as well as Saturdays show) if they need to.

yeh I think sky should do a friday show once a month. Just a 1 hour show for a young domestic title holder.

Maloney should get a few more shows. The Groves fight should not be a headline bill on sky imo. Also what happening with Munroe?

Sky started off with a bang with the 4 September show in Scotland, the the Molitor-Booth fight followed by the Magnificent Seven. Last week was fine because they did two bills but the upcoming schedule goe sback more to what it was before the new season. I hope they get back to solid cards stacked with good fights.

i'll take that 18th dec slot if you dont mind and put on eight 50/50 fights with local prospects, save sky a small fortune and give public great value.

geeza slot sky, geeza slot I can do that. ha ha

A fight is a fight I say. I'd take that. In fact, I could handle a night of White Collar on my screen. Anything but miss-matched fights.

Pascal and Hopkins are going to war on the 18th of December. I doubt SKY will refuse to show that fight considering Pascal fought Froch and gave him a war and Bernard Hopkins is an active legend of the sport. It is also a very competitive fight aswell.

Can't see Sky showing that one.

The LHW division just isn't hot enough right now.

Hmmmm, can't agree with you there. With Cleverly moving up the rankings Sky may well take more interest in the overall LHW division.
