ive always said fighters need to be over 6ft4 or forget about it.

come on delboy just steam in with the left and try to connect in the first 3 rounds
problem is 6' 4+ heavyweights are usually immobile, slow, cannot use their reach and are generally rubbish
Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, Tyrell Biggs, Wladimir Klitschko, Teofilo Stevenson, Felix Savon...

Anyway with regard to the topic in hand, what a coup for Warren/Chisora! Okay, Del-boy will not be getting Haye style money but he will get an almighty mortgage paying bonanza for taking part in a title fight everybody expects him to get flattened in. Ironically he can't lose - great pay day, experience and an opportunity to deliver the upset of the century all rolled into one. Even if he gets blasted out, he can simply regroup and continue along the route he was previously treading.

FYI Wladimir Klitckko doesnt do "blast outs"........ he prefers slow methodical beatings where he carries the foe, makes it impossible for him to quit unless he wants ridicule for quiting over a jab in theface, and carries his foe, breaking their spirit and than he administers career ruining beatings. That is Chisora's future as well.

I am in two minds... Isn't it this just a terrible mismatch? Chisora has basically zero chance of winning. He's not even that hard a puncher. He's really green still. It's a cash in, isn't it? Like everyone says he's got nothing to lose, but I wonder what sort of deal he's going to have to accept and it's probably going to be an awful beating...

But it will get HUGE hype (what with most of the papers sports fans read being News Corp, and them owning Sky etc) so the fight will be absolutely massive in Britain. Both Klitschko (who is only really known by the average punter as a bloke mentioned in articles on David Haye) and Chisora's profiles in Britain will increase tenfold, loads of people will buy it, see what a monster Wlad is and interest in Haye - Klitschko will go through the roof. If Del gives a good account of himself then he sets himself up for more lucrative bouts. It'll be good for interest in UK boxing.

And if he won... Well he won't, will he? But in the build up we'll all start dreaming that he might, he just might.

Heavyweight boxing is shocking, isn't it? Why does it get me so excited still? I have no idea.

true enough, IMO. Chagaev's a tough enough guy but, well, he did basically quit over being jabbed in the face.

A sustained beatdown from Wlad could finish Chisora, which would be a shame as he's an interesting character and good fighter. He really should go hell for leather, it's his only chance and would extend his career whatever the outcome.

Big shout there, but there have been much bigger upsets over the years, and imo Chisora has a much better chance against Wlad Klitschko than many are giving him.

Chisora is a decent puncher, strong guy and has good stamina. And if he sees some give then he doesn't stop punching till the fight is over. End of the day Klitschko has been KO'd thrice and on the floor 11 odd times in his career. He's powerful and massive, but lacks stamina and inate fighting guts. Klitschko should win by doing his usual routine of jab, hold and dropping the occasional big right hand or left hook in. But despite his lack of experience Chisora poses more threat than several of Klitschko's recent challengers. It'd be a shock if he won, but there have certainly been bigger shocks in the past.

I have so much respect for Chisora taking the fight... I don't think he'll win but I can see him gaining from it in the long term. It was only a year or so ago that Chisora was accused of ducking Tyson Fury after being non-committal in an interview but when you look at the two of them now, you have to take your trilby off to Delboy! And I just couldn’t ever see me calling him that

I wouldn't write him off.

Chisora is a relatively fit and strong for the division, wheras Danny lost his confidence in his attempt.

Best of bloody luck to him :TU:

chisora has no chance whatsoever....this is not a washed up danny williams or average sam sexton hes fighting......i will go as far as to say this fight wont go past 3 rounds.....and i dont think chisora will ever recover from the beating he gets....hes only had 14 fights for christs sake! theres no way wlad can justify taking this fight...

Good on him for taking the fight. Cannot see him winning, but he has nothing to lose. If he does get beat, still plenty of time to go away and try again.

Del Boy is the real hero of the British heavyweight scene. He has as much chance of winning as Haye would ... But Chisora is man enough to give it a go.

Massive respect to Del Boy. Atlast, a heavyweight worthy of our support'

Respect for taking the fight but bloody hell he hardly looked like the second coming against Sexton did he, potential or not.

Maybe a fight with Sosnowski would've been a good step but suppose in the risk v financial reward stakes giving it a go against Klitschko is worth a go.

Hope he gets well paid for it and to be fair does make Haye look lame for fighting Harrison. Just hope his team don't let him take a beating he can't come back from as I just think he's slow of feet, just how Wlad likes them. (I mean, if Sexton could outjab him).

All the same I'll be cheering him on and would happily do plenty of this  if he pulls off a mahoosive feckin' shock!

Is this fight instead of the 30th Anniversary card Fwank was planning or does that go ahead too? If so, 11th December is going to be an outrageous evening, what with Khan v Maidana and the Bantamweight tourney too.

Will be sending the wife n kids to the in-laws for this one.

More balls than Haye, they will fight after no doubt. What does this say for Haye, it looks like his next 2 fights are Aud & Chisora.

You can't say that. Haye is not scared to fight them, he just feels he should be suitably rewarded. I'm not entirely sure what he is asking for and whether its reasonable, but thats the sticking point in making that fight, nothing to do with balls.

I think you are correct, although I think Haye has over inflated his own value. Lets not forget he did agree terms with Wlad before. It was on, people bought tickets and then he suffered the back injury (cough Sentanta couldn't pay cough).

Why can't they agree the same terms as then?

Because as 'WBA' Champ, Haye now values himself as 50/50...probably.

The other thing is no doubt Chisora is being used as a stooge to bait Haye. To beat up one of his London "brothers" so badly in what will be a celebratory carnival style atmosphere at the end in front of 60,000 people in Germany and than for Wladimir to ask Haye to step up if he has the courage.....will be a HUGE statement.

I have a feeling that if the Haye-Harrison fight hadnt been done, Harrison may have been chosen by Klitchko for the same reason.

Chisora is taking the risk. If he wins he will be set for life in a clash with Haye. It will be Brinks Matt for Derek.

Has this been confirmed yet?

If true, I hope Del Boy is getting a fair whack for this! I suspect he will be given his promoter.

Far too early but to be honest I never thought Chisora would get a shot so there is a great case for him going for it. Good luck to the fella. If and when it's confirmed I'm onboard for a trip to Germany for it :TU:
