Help with finding Fathers Record

Post by BoxersSon »

Hey all how is it going. I am reaching out to the boxing community to try and find record or records of my fathers amateur boxing career. His name is Bill Billy or William Moore not sure what he fought under. White male maybe fought in middle weight class give or take. He was born in the 40's so I would say he fount sometime between 1955 and 1970 not exactly sure when in this time frame. I know he never went pro. I do believe he had won one or some Golden Gloves titles in his time. He was born in Olympia Washington but was a military kid. I want to say he fought in the Ohio area or North Eatern area. I will try to update information as I can get it to help any of you out with assisting me. I am trying not to let him know I am doing this for a surprise I have in mind for him. I know with little information it is a long shot but I have to give it a try. Thanks for any information any of you might be able to find for me.

I used to spar with a black amateur light heavyweight named Willie Moore at Johnny Coulon's gym in Chicago during 1965-1968. Could it be the same guy?
