Demolitiondaley 198lbs

Post by demolitiondaley »

Hi guys, just a quickie to let you all know that I have made cruiserweight and I am going up in front of the board on Sunday to ask for my licence back. I weighed in the other day at 14st2lb after a run and feel strong at the weight. I have improved my technique over the last 6months whilst I have been out and been in the gym 5days a week both in Preston with Johnney Roye and Sam Betts and at Oliver's on a friday. I've done all I can now, I just hope I can convince the board to let me try again. One thing thats for sure if I get another crack, I wont be taking fights on 2days notice against commonwealth gold medalists or world amatuer champs. I'll let you know how I get on anyway. Thanks for your support in the past :box:

14st2lb, wow that's like 42lbs less than what you weighed for your last fight 6 months ago! Congrats if you've done it the right way and good luck mate.

Thanks mate, I actually put a bit on after that fight and got up to 17st9lb. So my total weight loss is about 3 and a half stone, I've been eating little and often and lost it gradually over the 6 months. Low fat, low carb, plenty of protien, fruit and veg, no carbs after noon and any carbs I do have are wholemeal. Its been a killer because I love my food but I love my boxing more so I'm going to maintain this weight now and start fighting some guys my own size :TU:

Thanks everybody, Bomber you boxed at heavy in the ams didn't you?

Congratulations on the successful defence by the way, you will learn most from the hard fights like that. Some guys just won't be knocked out no matter how you hit em! I know how awkward them Ingle switch hitters can be. They are few and far between though, you dealt with him and would deal with him differently if you had to again I'm sure. :TU:

Thanks big man.. Awkward fight but it's made me look at things once again so it's had a good effect to be honest, I boxed at 200Lbs in the am's an at 175Lbs in the pro's.. When Arnie got me I was 215Lbs... Man I was big.. :OhYes: Like you though pal I did the hard work and I believe it'll pay off, Hopefully... :TU:

Good Luck in the future mate

Hi guys, a bit of an update for you on my boxing. I fought Shane McPhilbin on Saturday and weighed in a 1/4lb under the championship limit Shane came in about half a stone heavier. We had a cracking fight and I would say it was my best technical performance ever. My defence was tight and I pressured him the whole way landing good scoring shots and nicking points on the ref's scorecard. I lost by a wide margin but overall it was a close competitive match-up and Shane who has been a good amateur fighting the likes of Tyson Fury said it was his toughest win as a pro and he was shocked because he thought he was going to be in for an easy nights work. My coach Johnney Roye was very happy with my improvements and it is to him that I owe all my technical improvements due to him taking me under his wing, giving me loads of pad-work and even going as far as to spar me which to my mind is the greatest privilege a retired fighter can give his student. The man has taken enough lumps as an international amateur and a world champion Muay-Thai boxer. I'm in the gym everyday now I have left the Police and work there full-time teaching amateurs and doing personal fitness training. I didn't leave the Police for boxing but because it was to demanding on my family life and I am in a better position to look after my son self-employed. I'm fighting in Preston on the 28th of May at Lava and Ignite opponent to be confirmed but I'd like to fight Lee Kellet like it was was supposed to be on the last show when he didn't get his medicals sorted in time. We'll see anyway and keep you all posted, I haven't been on here as much recently due to me not being sat in the training office at the Police station wasting time on the police computer ha ha
