Brits fighting in Germany

Post by Abbo »

Just with Chisora, and ultimately Haye in mind I wondered what British boxers had fought in big fights over in Germany?

Skelton challenging Chaguev springs to mind. Reid vs Ottke.

Any others?

OK great, so let me expand the question. Who's ever experienced a really good atmosphere over there?

German boxing fans are strange. They like big, methodical, well-conditioned fighters in the mould of Karl Mildenberger, Henry Maske and the Klitschkos. They are just going to love the flashy, blubbery Chisora.

sosnowski might be polish but he's also a fixture on the domestic scene. he fought pianeta in germany (D12), vitali in germany (stopped) and now is mandatory for EBU champ dimitrenko which will surely end up in germany.

hope sonsowski guns for it - can't see a bigger chance/payday over here - and then finally gets a win in a big german fight.

wasn't there but the vitali fight seemed to have some atmosphere with sosnowski's effort getting some of the crowd excited.

how about glen catley stopping marcus beyer for a great win in germany. winning the WBC title in the 12th round, surely behind on points.
