He did a job on Morris though, wheras Sykes couldn't.

Sykes will have to also up his game like crolla has done lately.

Be an interesting rematch.

Crolla looks like the most polished fighter on the domestic scene, without a doubt.

ppl were giving morris credit, but he was having to use up so much energy in terms of movement and flurrying.

good pressure and variety from crolla. that left hook did great damage to morris' head and body.

brilliant fight and performance. sykes next?

excellent run from joe gallagher's fighters. has it been 3 weeks in a row, an EBU title regained (macklin), an EBU title defended (murray, with younger brother on undercard), and crolla beating morris, a guy that was every bit as good as the british champ - all via stoppage.

Another thread promoting brandhatton.com

Anthony Crolla deserves all the praise that comes his way - he is a top bloke - but this site is seriously suffering from double standards when Hennessy Sports gets criticised but yet brandhatton seem to be able to display whatever interviews they want taking away the good work the reporters on boxrec do!!!

sykes is very strong and it'll be a hell of a fight. but i go with crolla. he'll avoid more shots this time, and he'll land harder ones than he landed in the first fight. he was exceptional, and is a different fighter than he was in that 2009 war.

has sykes ever been hurt, dropped? been in any other wars (besides the obvious ones this and last year)?

joe's trained crolla, a fighter who's been well under the radar. he's got every right to post interviews and celebrate his fighter's performance.

The interview had already been highlighted on another thread - or does boxrec want to change its name to brandhatton.com

yeah, on having a re-watch of Crolla- Sykes, i could see Crolla winning it now with slightly better stamina, and being a bit more relaxed in his style he should have more energy left for the later rounds.

one difference:

these guys all seem to be fighting each other!

will one guy out of these land a shot at ricky burns?

reckon burns' performance must be really giving these guys extra motivation - if they needed any.

Nice diciplined fight from Crolla...showed composure and faith in his tactics. Didn't panic when Morris had his moments, just kept chipping away till the effect was obvious to all. Good solid win and at 6/1 for an inside schedule triumph, an absolute bargain bet :TU:

A rematch between Crolla and Sykes would figure to be an absolute belter. Both improved and still improving fighters, both young and ambitious with higher apirations. Surely couldn't fail to be another tremendous fight!

Sykes, Crolla, and Foster must all be itching to get at Ricky Burns.

Thought Morris' speed of foot and hand would lead to a comfortable points win, but he seemed to go down hill fast.
Crolla seemed to be hunting him down with a tight guard either planning a a knockout punch (not sure he can rely on this) or a test of stamina and stepping things up from the 5th. (Risky strategy but maybe this was his best option given the skills comparison)
I'd be interested to hear a/ What the fight plan was (Joe G ?) b/How does Joe feel the fight went. (I don't think Crolla had won more than 2 rds upto the ending)

Congratulations to Anthony, he's on a great run

Commiserations to Andy he seems a bit of a nearly man, and has not had the best of luck in his career.

i had him winning 3 or 4 and if it had gone the distance, he would have had all the late rounds and probably some 2 point rounds.

reckon crolla will be much more comfortable (on the scoring) in 12 rounders.

No doubt there are some very beatable world champs at the weight for them to shoot for.......either or.

If one of them could take Fana's crown, then we could even see a Burns V fellow Brit unification :o
