i thought the losses to simpson, who hea'd already beaten, were due to weight drain at featherweight?

in the sykes fight, morris almost won so a few months ago super feather was a good idea.

maybe that fight took something out of him, maybe crolla was just hitting too accuractely and forcing him to use up loads of energy.

morris gave a great account of himself, featured in two domestic fight of the year classics. don't think featherweight would be a good idea, if he's drained down there.

perhaps he can hope for sykes to beat crolla, and a rematch with sykes aftre a bit of a break?

seems in a tough spot - coming off two draining battles, too big for feather and maybe too small for some of the super feathers.

Its shame because Andy has all the talent in the world he just cant hurt a man enough to take the fight. I was there on Saturday and I thought he overworked the first 4 rounds after that he was getting caught and I predicted he would go the round before the stoppage.

It seems he is forever going to be the nearly man of Featherweight division as I dont think any of the fighters fear fighting him because of the lack of power.

still he has those good wins over rendall muroe and john simpson and lost two excellent title fights (british and english) at super featherweight.

surely a worthy career on the domestic scene.

Depends on whether the hunger is there to carry on fighting at domestic level. The problem with someone like Andy is he is to good to fight average domestic fighters but doesn't carry enough power to trouble the harder domestic fighters so he is abit stuck really. I think the Sykes rematch is gone now after saturday night and I also think Crolla will be looking further then Andy so that would rule that fight out aswell.

it does not look promising right now, as you say.

however, maybe if he has a rest (surely he need sone after the last 2 fights, back to back wars) and then sees what happens.

the scene could really change in the next few fights and surely the domestic fighters will be eyeing up the EBU title held by foster and the WBO title held by burns.

sadly morris is well out of that mix, for the bigger titles.

He already had near 2 years off after the 3rd Simpson fight it would be hard to imagine he would walk away again and comeback.

But like you say Sykes and Crolla will have eyes elsewhere so maybe that will open things up for him again.

Put it down to an off night. Andy was was well in front on points for the first half of the fight just seemed to run out of gas in the six round. Crolla was catching him with shots which closed his right eye and he couldnt see the shots coming in from the left.
Just a bit unlucky on the night.
After a rest I am sure he will be able to come back and compete at this level in the future.
If he chooses to retire he can hold his head high knowing he has produced some classic fights throughout his career.
Credit to Anthony we wish him all the best for the future. I am sure he can go on to win the british title on the back of this fight.
Thanks for all your support for Andy
