Lopez vs Marquez

Post by Short-Left-Hook »

Afternoon All

I know this fight is over a month away, but it's a fight that's rarely mentioned and i can't understand why! Personally i think it could be a contender for FOTY, and am very much looking forward to it.

Which way do we see this one going, Lopez the undefeated up and comer with fast hard hands, come forward style and a decent chin. (not taking away from the fact that the lad can box aswell)
or Marquez, one of the sports true technicians coming off a good win against a modern great?

Will Marquez' recent hand injury hinder him in any way?

Personally I think Lopez will prove a little too much if he can draw Marquez into a fight....but only time will tell.

Thoughts
Cheers SLH :bag:

it's a great style matchup in a loaded division. so much going on. you can see why this fight and not, say, lopez v caballero was made. this will be all clean power shots. marquez seems a lot bigger next to lopez than i thought he'd be. if he's still sharp, can beat juanma to the punch and MOVE AWAY before lopez counters, he could do some real damage.

marquez could have sought out easier challenges than this for featherweight glory.

Marquez takes it by KO. He is just better than Juanma.

also smaller and older, is marquez. the timing suggests the bigger (he started at 122 while marquez started at 118) and fresher lopez. but marquez will really be on a mission, to win his 3rd world title. he has to be smart and he has to be quick.
