A guy who has been "big upping" Povetkin for sometime on another forum has mentioned that he is expected to make his pro debut sometime this month. There was no mention of with who.
This doesn't seem to be the case, I will ask for the source.
I will be shocked if this is true, but I tell you if it is then this is as big a scoop as Amir Khan.

Povetkin is the current Super HEavy Olympic champion, and has also won the World championships, and 2 European championships.
This is a big signing - comparable to Lennox Lewis in terms of significance.

Lewis went on to achieve exceptionally at a pro, but what I am saying is that as far as signing an amateur, it is as sigificant as Maloney signing Lewis - IE signing the top amateur heavy in the world.
Whether Povetkin willl achieve the same is a different story.

This really is huge news. I honestly think this is bigger than Lewis turning pro in the UK. Lewis turned pro in a time when Tyson looked set to dominate for the next decade.
Potevkin is turning pro when the devision is dead, I saw him in the Olympics and didn't really rate him - but he sounds ambitious and could go far (mainly because the devision is dead).
Lets put it this way, I think more people are predicting this guy to be world champ than Lewis when he turned pro - not because Potevkin is better than Lewis, but because the devision is dead.
He has (although I cannot see it) been dubbed as the second best non cuban Heavy/Super Heavy since 1988 (with only Lewis ranked higher).
A big well done to allegedly, he's beaten off King, Arum and Universum for this signature. Also well done to Hart on the exclusive - I don't think anyone even smelled this news.
