Which Hagler fight was better?

Hagler v Hearns or Hagler v Mugabi?

After viewing both very recently I prefer his fight with Mugabi, the first round against Hearns was a cracker but I believe his fight with The Beast was more entertaining overall.

Thoughts please?

The fight with the great Thomas Hearns was the great Marvin Hagler's defining fight. He was MARVELOUUUSSSS!!!

i'm glad to see the mugabi fight get some credit. it always seems to get mentioned as hagler starting to look a bit frayed or about leonard watching it and thinking he could beat hagler. it's a very entertaining battle. there was alot of hope for mugabi based on his performance here, but his fight with hagler was the high point of his career.
still, i have to take hearns 1st, and mugabi a close 2nd.

banjo i really enjoy the Mugabi fight too. the way Marv dominates long periods, just by jabbing/feinting with the jab and sliding to Mugabi's left, then jabbing again, that telescopic right hand shooting out like a fairground bionic arm and smashing into Mugabi's eyes. brilliant, brilliant boxing.

Both fights are equally entertaining in my eyes. Not to take anything away from Hagler vs Hearns, but I never thought the 1st round of that bout was the best round of boxing ever or anything. Like lots of other boxing fans seem to. Still a hell of a battle, and deserves to remembered for sure.

I'm definitely going with Hagler vs Hearns.
That fight should be considered one of the greatest advretisements for boxing throughout history.

And, there are fights that could be described as WARS! (Ali vs Frazier 3, Froch vs Kessler) to name but a few, but Hearns vs Hagler, it really was a WAR!
