Drug Testing

Post by Josh1111 »

Do fighters have to give blood and urine samples in between fights or is it just in the period leading upto and after a fight?

Why would you test a boxer when they're not in training?

With so many governing bodies is it any surprise?

It's down to the promoters to insist on it's inclusion.

One of the german outfits has adopted it for all title fights and have unearthed a few dopers already.

:shame: All boxers should be tested randomly (and a lot more often) when they have an active boxing licence.

How can you tell when a boxer is training or not? He could be boosting his cardio and recovering from training sessions and/or injuries much faster and then come off the pes' in the lead up to the fight. He will be able to get the benefit of coming into "pre-fight" training fitter and show no trace of the pes' in his system.

Even if they do get caught a "big star" will/can use lawyers to tie the whole thing up in the courts.

Its a joke that boxers are not tested more often. Any registered pro should be open to random testing at any time during their liscenced period IMO. This way it would stop all the histeria surrounding Pacman as well.
