Mike Reed def Zeddie Adams 19-8 to set up a rematch with Gary Allan Russell of the DC Golden Gloves from this year. The winner wins this tournament, that's my call. This was the hot bracket.

Cullen - Reed vs. Adams was a fairly good bout. First time I've seen either. Mike was stronger, faster and took advantage of Zeddie's tentativeness. Very good experience for Zeddie; I'm sure he'll benefit greatly.

Mike Reed is on top of his game right now.boxmel wrote:Cullen - Reed vs. Adams was a fairly good bout. First time I've seen either. Mike was stronger, faster and took advantage of Zeddie's tentativeness. Very good experience for Zeddie; I'm sure he'll benefit greatly.
What happened in Saul Rodriguez's bout (he won via DQ)?
How is Midget looking? Midget vs. Raushee is what I want to see.
Arnett stopped Pearson??? Was it a DQ or RSC? Didn't see that coming.
On my radar today:
Stephanie Han vs. Patricia Manuel (Patricia is one of my favorite BOXERS to watch)
Kareem Martin vs. Joe Alday
Oscar Cantu vs. Adam Lopez
Destyne Butler vs. Ernesto Delgadillo
Pedro Sosa vs. Ace'son Lesuere
Dennis Galaraza vs. Antonio Magruder
Luis Feliciano vs. Joe Perez
Kenneth Sims vs Saul Rodriguez**This should be great
Abel Ramos vs. Ed Brown
Lentroy Thompson vs. Trevor Bryan
Andrew Ruiz vs. George Rincon
Mike Reed vs. Allan Russell***I wish I was there.
Daquan Arnett vs. Sippion-Cook
Jerrey Odom vs. Siju Shabazz
LADIES AND GENTLEMENT, IT'S FINALLY HEATING UP AT THE PALS. ANYONE WITH VIDEO, PLEASE PM ME.

It is a learning experience for Zeddie and myself. Zeddie had over 20 pounds to lose in less than 30 days. His coach would not take him to the tournament because he felt Zeddie was not in the right condition. As a parent, sometimes it is hard to say no to your child. WRONG MOVE. Congratulations to Mike. HE came ready!!!! To Zed and other boxers, you have to be in shape at all times, not just when it is tournament time. Good Luck to everyone.

Yup, that's too much weight too fast. Definitely not going to have energey to compete at national level, but I'm sure he learned. Sometimes as a coach/parent you have to let them find out the hard way, but at he got to learn it early in this Olympic process. Tell Zeddie, we'll see him at the Gloves. You are right, there is no season for boxing especially headed towards 2012.ZMOMMI wrote:It is a learning experience for Zeddie and myself. Zeddie had over 20 pounds to lose in less than 30 days. ZMOMMI - boxers should listen to their coaches. Zeddie will bounce back from the loss.
Chris Pearson got dropped hard and it definitely was an RSC-H. Chris was slugging and loading up as was the other boxer. It seemed like somebody was going to go down. Unfortunately for Chris he got caught. He's a good kid and will learn from his mistakes.

You don't want to mix it up with Arnett. He is a very underrated amateur as is a few Florida fighters such as Colon and Logan. That brings me to Donald Anderson who has beat Arnett twice I think, does anybody know what happened to him?

No - Adam Lopez beat Oscar. Is it true Adan Ortiz beat Oscar Cantu?
Reed vs. Russell was in ring 3 and I'm in ring 1 so I missed it. I'll ask Brent Bovell for his opinion and let you know (he's in ring 3).

Anyone see Marcus Browne vs DeRae Crane? Wouldn't expect 1st Rd. KO's at this point in the tournament...
Have any of the tournament fights been put on YouTube? I can't find any...
I think it'll be Amir Iman and Pedro Sosa in the Finals...Sosa is tough and I hear Iman is very good...
Nice to see Nisa Rodriguez and Christina Cruz doing there thing as well...
