We have to admit the Delhi games have been a shambles for boxing so far....the way the incompetent third world Indians messed up the scales was so tough on the boxers....also the typical arrogant incompetent Indian beaurocracy who refused to beleive their scales were wrong and out by 1.4kg....and add the delhi belly thats going around......just shambolic these guys who trained 4 years are going through this and the filthy sshiit stained rooms in the athletes village.

Where have you heard that?

We have one of the Irish team doing a daily dairy on Boxing-Ireland.com and he has said that the village is immaculate, plenty to do, good wide choice of food and cuisines and the scales aside there have been no problems.

Sure the scoring has been questioned, but I think the best fighter has got through each time, and thescoring is an AIBA issue anyway and not down to the Games themselves.

read it in the independant mate theyve been doing daily stories along those lines. the shhit stained bit is a reference to the south africans finding odd marks on the duvets in some rooms , it turned out the contractors had dogs running around

He was even better in his last fight, boxer of the tournament so far O'kane is gonna struggle with him next.

oh so Ogogo beat Hooper - good result, Hooper is very young, but very good.

Won the Youth Olympics this year.

Lord I hate the so-called computer scoring. It has virtually ruined international amateur boxing as a spectacle.

Andso few scoring punches are missed.


Club amateur boxing is still a great show, but Olympics/Euros/Commonwealth is just fencing with gloves.

Yep - had his number too. Close first round, both fighters looked the part. Hooper slowed in the second and tried to work off the back foot, was holding quite a bit too, same for the third round.

I thought Callum Smith boxed a very clever fight against an awkward opponent too, He was getting jobbed on the points too as he was always ahead but they just weren't pushing the buttons enough at all.. He kept him at range brilliantly and then when he chose to went to body excellently too..

Callum looks a great prospect. I didn't see today's fight (trying to find it now), but saw him dominate on Wednesday. The size of him has allowed him so much variation to his work. Can box off the back foot and looks sharp up close.
